Q: Catholic church - pre-marital amorous activity

Reluctant_Linux_UserThe Catholic church teaches that sexual love between a man and a woman is to be reserved to within marriage. The Catholic position seems to be that sex is to be between married couples, to avoid contraception and to ensure that male orgasm occurs inside his wife's vagina. My question is in the o...

@JimG. and?

@El'endiaStarman Perhaps you could get a snapshot of the deleted comments for this post and link them for FMS on this meta post,
like was done on the other post were he has had the same issue. I'm trying to help him out here, but it's slow going. I think this would help.
Thanks.

@JimG. yeah... gross mis-representation of the doctrines and the reasons behind them. Fortunately, he was willing to edit after that was pointed out.

Q: Splitting up the Corinthians tag

curiousdanniiUnlike most books of the Bible, the two Corinthians epistles share a tag: corinthians. What do you think about splitting it up into 1-corinthians and 2-corinthians?

Q: Where did the question concerning YHWH/Elohim being part of the Egyptian/Canaanite pantheon go?

Reluctant_Linux_UserI'm sure that one of these questions was decent among all the guff that was appearing on here yesterday? Did it get deleted? Was it off-topic and if so why?

10:47 AM
@fredsbend @El'endiaStarman I'm not convinced it would be helpful in this case. There are more problems in there than just FMS's so it's a difficult set to analyze. The screenshot also wouldn't show the timeline of what got deleted when. I think re-hashing that mess would only serve to re-enforce his miss-understanding about the ephemeral nature of comments.

> “Mathew Hagee Says Ebola Crisis Is a Sign of the End Times.” Because Matthew Hagee says everything is a sign of the End Times.
> Hagee is following in the footsteps of his dad, perpetual End Times prophesier John Hagee. That makes Matthew a second-generation proponent of the belief that we are in the last generation.
> That may seem like an absurd, self-refuting contradiction, but Matthew Hagee says that such contradictions are signs of the End Times.

@TRiG that is pretty funny
well, if they keep trying to succeed where their parents failed, eventually they'll get it right
they're just really taking "if at first you don't succeed" to heart

@Caleb So we should just stress that comments are meant to be deleted eventually anyway and any persisting beyond yours will be deleted as well? I don't think that will help him either. He will feel it has gone unanswered.
@El'endiaStarman Well, I don't know. Caleb thinks you shouldn't. ^^^ I've made the case that you (the mods) should.

@fredsbend That might be a bug. I deleted their actual first post from the week before today (Catholic answer on Protestant question) which apparently made the one remaining post show up in their periodic "first post" scan.
@fredsbend I'm not strictly opposed to it but I don't know what doing so will fix. There is a giant mess of comments that were all out of line (not just FMS, the fault was with multiple parties). We cleaned it up. That's how the system is supposed to work. What exactly will micro-analyzing it now and throwing out more blame do anybody? How will that promote proper usage patterns?

@Caleb True, there's a lot of opportunity to get lost in details that aren't related to this issue. I think I'll try to make things clear again.

7:50 PM
@Caleb @El'endiaStarman Okay, I've made and edit to my post and and let FMS know about it. I'm willing to look through the comments an analyze them one by one. I've sufficiently said that I'm in favor of any comment not talking about the post's problems is fair game for deletion, even if that comment also addresses the post's problems.
So it's up to you guys now. It seems that I'm the only one left reading that meta post, so I don't think this will bring in more voices, complicating things.

Q: What is the 'reformed-theology' tag about?

FlimzyI saw this question was tagged as reformed-theology and though "Gee, that has nothing to do with Calvinism, let me remove that tag."* But then I saw the wiki tag: The body of teaching which arose during and shortly after The Reformation That description makes me think of "protestant theolo...

Can we get some action on this? I still recommend making Calvinism a synonym of Reformed-theology
They're not perfectly synonymous, but for 99% of our questions, they are
