@PeterTurner That link does not say that Muhammad pbuh is a prophet like Jesus. It is like how some Jews rejected Jesus , some Christians rejected Muhammad. But many Chrsitans at the time of Muhammad pbuh did embrace Islam. Infact one of the famous cristian King Negus who seemed to be a catholic embraced Islam.
I would say that Muhammad pbuh was more successful like Moses than Jesus in winning the hearts of the people.

Q: Why did religion mixed with politics hold back progress of Europeans but not the Turks?

@AskElisha This question assumes that religion+politics are causing the delaying the progress of the Europeans in comparison to the Turks; I'd rather assume that the relationship between technology/societal advancement and religion+politics is very complex and correlational.
