@CodyGray The flagging for FIRE has always gone through MS, which is a bit less complicated and allows MS to accumulate flagging stats. I wrote code for FIRE, 4 or 5 years ago, to use the SE API directly when the desired flagging wasn't available through MS (e.g. NAA flags, flags by site moderators, if the moderator enabled them, and flagging when MS couldn't, e.g. MS is down or rate limited). I was very specifically denied permission to merge that code into FIRE. That denial was what started the dramatic divergence between the version I use and the released version of FIRE. About a year ago, I was given permission to merge the code which uses the SE API into the released version of FIRE. Over the time since then, I've periodically been working on making the released version much closer to the version I use. The next be chunk is the code for flagging through the SE API, and the substantial refactoring which, currently, is an integral part of that.
