@CodyGray Matched by agenpkv\.8b\.io on line 26587 of watched_keywords.txt

Actually, I'm thinking to watch "pkv". It was just in another recent TP, and most of the FPs are very old.
A few FPs on SO is par for the course, even with the best watches.
Given that there were two recent spam attempts with this phrase, it seems like it would at least be valuable to watch it temporarily.

I don't know. Seems like it would generate a lot of FP.

That's why I dug out the proof, to convince the stubborn among us. :-)

7:35 AM
:D I'm not sure we shouldn't watch it, but I think we should at least set up notifications, so that we can unwatch it soon, if it happens to become a problem.

Another feature request I'm going to casually make here, as if all features were easy to implement: would be very nice if we could set up an expiring watch that would automatically get removed within a certain period of time (bonus points for if it considered the waning number of TPs).
Ah, you're coming to the same conclusions.

Are you comfortable writing userscripts? Not sure it would help here, mostly curious.

Not really.
I have limited enough skills to modify existing userscripts, though, in many cases.
I can also (obviously) remix and combine pieces from existing userscripts into something new.
But when it comes to writing from scratch, about all I could manage would be a userscript that changes some CSS.
Definitely don't have the whole local storage thing figured out, so I wouldn't be able to generate the types of notifications we're proposing.

I see. Well, feature requests are easy enough to suggest, so that's something :)

I'm going to go ahead and do it.
The "notification" will be the inevitable WTF that comes as there are too many FPs.

Oh, that's right; I don't respond to pings in here very often. :-)
And sometimes I bite.

Your bark's definitely worse ;) Though I'm biased; I haven't yet given you reason to bite.

It's hard to distinguish the bark from the bite. The barking is what most would consider biting.
(On a side note: I'm quite pleased with that double or perhaps even triple entendre.)

I looked briefly at the site, they seem to have pkvqq and many other things qq but nothing like that in the spam itself

Does "qq" have some sort of meaning?

I don't think so, they seemed to use it as a sort of coolness indicator like pokerQQ

Grouping by privilege is less optimal for my typical use than grouping by purpose.

@CodyGray So.... you're saying there's little or no purpose in grouping by privilege? :)

I imagine there's a purpose for people who just want to see what they can do at their privilege level.
But I'm not acknowledging that pun, as it's inferior to my earlier double/triple-entendre. :-)

@NisseEngström That sounds like it could easily be spam, so... better to evaluate as to if it's spam. OTOH, it can also just be someone who unknowingly copied some tracking codes. The exact values can often tell you more.

@NisseEngström I don't think they're outright prohibited. They are often indicative of spam; I think we even have a watch for it. If it's spam, then it shouldn't be edited, and if it's not spam, then it shouldn't be edited either. At least, that's my logic; I don't really know too much about what the utm stuff is either.

@Makyen Someone broke a link in this edit. I can't suggest a single character edit, but I could remove the parameters to get passed the six-character limit...

@cigien I don't see why we shouldn't edit them out if it's not spam.

9:13 AM
@CodyGray Well, if they aren't causing any harm, then there's no reason to edit them out is what I'm thinking.

Tracking! Evil! Infanticide!

@NisseEngström If it's not spam, then I'd normally edit such tracking parameters out.

@Makyen I didn't know we should be doing that. Noted, thanks.
