@VictorVosMottor You don't have blacklist manager privileges, but I've created PR#5088 for you.

PR#5088 ("Victor VosMottor: Watch filverr\.com") opened by SmokeDetector

Hullo @Spevacus ;)

Hello hello!
@VictorVosMottor Is that a typo? Did you mean fiverr\.com?

oh a typo

4:10 PM
@VictorVosMottor You don't have blacklist manager privileges, but I've created PR#5089 for you.

PR#5089 ("Victor VosMottor: Watch fiverr\.com") opened by SmokeDetector

!!/bisect fiverr.com

I thought that was already watched..

@Mast 'fiverr.com' is not caught by a blacklist or watchlist item.

@Spevacus So did I.

4:11 PM
Huh. Weird.
We catch a lot of fiverr, I know that for sure.

@Spevacus Closed pull request #5088.

!!/watch fiverr\.com/\w++(?!(?:[^<]|<(?!\/?code>))*+<\/code>)

Ah, interesting.

4:12 PM
Note we have a lot of FP on that domain, so a watch should be more specific.
If possible.
It's a freelancing site, so a lot will be spam. Not all of it.
And this was a /share/ link, basically an in-built URL shortener provided by the platform.

Ryan's more nuanced watch covers 296 TP / 37 FP / 6 NAA while just straight-up fiverr\.com covers 300 TP / 95 FP / 9 NAA
Sacrifices 4 TP for a lot less FP

!!/reject 5089 "Ryan M provided a more specific watch here that reduces the false positive count significantly. fiverr.com in and of itself is not spam, it's just frequently used by spammers, so a watch of this domain should have a fairly specific regex for what we want to catch, rather than simply catching everything."

@Spevacus Closed pull request #5089.

@Spevacus Yes, a good deal.
Can possibly be improved further...

4:20 PM
Mhmm.

It's one of the trickier domains.

@DavidPostill In general, we switch to using non-public communication methods for discussing a spammer/troll who is aware of Charcoal and likely to be observing Charcoal HQ. The primary alternate we use is Keybase. You're welcome to join us there. Other than some discussion about such situations, it's very low traffic.

What the...

@DavidPostill You'll need to sign up for Keybase. You'll then need to provide an authenticated connection between your SE account and that Keybase account. The most common is authenticating a GitHub account associated with your SE/SO profile, but you can also do so through chat.

@Makyen OK. Downloading and installing now. I don't have a github account linked to SO. How do I do that bit?

@DavidPostill If you have a GitHub account and you are willing to associate it with both SO and Keybase (it's fine if you don't or don't want to, as other methods are possible), then you can add your GitHub account when editing your SE/SO profile. Keybase should walk you through authenticating your GitHub account as associated with your Keybase account. Basically, to do that you post a signed message as a public Gist, which should be semi-automatic, if you click to have it done.

@Makyen OK will give it a go and come back if I have any problems.

@Mast The string containing the domain which @JeffSchaller was trying to watch contains 3 SOFT HYPHEN' (U+00AD) characters, which is a common one used for obfuscation, because it's often not visible and tends to be filtered out.
