@Makyen This Q had a ranty edit. Rolled back and they just re-added. Mod flagged to avoid a rollback war (now they're posting rude stuff to draw a ban). Do you still want FPs in that case, or do we go TPU when they seem to be trying to go further?

@Undo May I know how you set up email sending out from your domain? I.e. I recall seeing emails coming out from @erwaysoftware.com and I'm trying to get my own. Are you using MailGun?

@iBug Have you looked into a service like Amazon SES? If you run EC2 instances, email coming from them is free up to I think 65k emails per month

@iBug Talking about my personal *@erwaysoftware.com addresses or the stuff that gets sent out from subdomains?

Your *@erwaysoftware.com, no subdomains.

I use Google Domains, it plumbs into Gmail nicely. Don't remember how, but I think it was a couple clicks.

2:07 PM
oh, Google Domains is pretty easy to set up.

Yeah, and non-evil

doesn't look like there's anything helpful with my domain registered at namecheap

Oh, though if you're not US it might be hard. I know they used to offer Google Domains in only a few countries.

Huh, does US refer to residing in US? Unfortunately I don't, I use my VISA card that supplies both USD and CNY (I'm Chinese) for billing, not sure if that helps.
(But I supply invalid billing addresses from random locations in US all the time, and it seems to work perfectly for almost every service I've tried, with PayPal being the biggest exception)

As long as the zip code matches, the rest can be totally fake in most cases

@Machavity When what was detected was an edit that is R/A, then the feedback is TP, as we would want to block the edit. This is briefly covered in the second paragraph of Repairable offensive posts. If the user is continuing to make edits/posts that are rants (i.e. R/A), then adding them to the user blacklist (e.g. with tpu feedback) is helpful. They'll automatically be removed once they stop and get FP feedback.

@double-beep I disagree. We shouldn't remove keto(?:nes?)? from being a watch. It, on occasion, is the only detection on previously unseen spam. The most recent example is this post from 3 days ago. However, making keto(?:nes?)? a special case that doesn't search on Chemistry would be reasonable.

@Makyen What I meant here was to remove keto(?:nes?)? and watch keto. This is clearer IMO, isn't it? Of course things that catch keto should not be removed. A reasonable watch also would be keto(?:\W*)?nes? which has 526 TPs and 94 FPs with no NAAs
!!/bisect keytone

@SmokeDetector @Makyen BTW, that would be a reasonable unblacklist. I have suggested PR#2945 which strips 3 TPs and all the hits in SE.

@Machavity Just to make sure you know: fpu is significantly different from tpu wrt. what it means for the user. fpu is fp plus putting the user on the user-whitelist, which results in no checks being performed on that user's username. tpu is tp plus putting the user on the user-blacklist, which results in triggering the "blacklisted user" detection on any post by that user. In general, fpu is only used when there's a detection which is catching that user's username.
