@Undo hey sorry we've been slammed - I've confirmed what's happening (the bot was legit banned, temporarily...which is somehow not releasing). We're digging into what behavior changed in HAProxy here...it was't intentional in our upgrade process at all.
If it happens again, please ping me - we just found that there is a bug, but need to work with HAProxy to resolve it, we've been slammed and couldn't find out what we did to cause it and...I don't think we did, we just found an odd bug with stick-tables.
If anyone's interested, there's a Live Q&A with Gabe Koscky, Enterprise Customer Success Engineer at Stack Overflow going on now. Gabe is speaking about lessons learned building and supporting Stack Overflow Enterprise.
@EriktheOutgolfer That pattern looks like it's already caught by Potentially bad keyword in answer and Potentially bad keyword in body; append -force if you really want to do that.
@EriktheOutgolfer You did. I had to choose not to send them after composing the !!/watches. I wasn't sure if you were going to get the others, as there was a delay after the two you sent.
@EriktheOutgolfer Yeah, I know that feeling. I usually pre-compose them, then copy & paste into the chat input. I've been switching to doing more of the composition in the input textarea, but sometimes it's still easier to have an place outside the browser to compose these.
I've been planing on making the creation and sending of !!/watch more automated, but I haven't gotten around to it yet.
@Makyen that's why I said "split the work" ;) automated watches would be a nice FIRE feature, if "(watch)" buttons next to every link don't complicate the appearance too much
@Makyen what I do: check if a regex is valid: copy-paste it in chat. Then I say: "Oh, wait! This can be improved by changing this to this and by removing this!" > invalid regex; doesn't match any post. What!?!?!?!? :)
@EriktheOutgolfer Yeah, I've been kicking around how to do it wrt. UI. I've thought about having a small UI element, but sometimes I just want more fine-grained control over the watch (i.e. there are a few different common patterns, of which most watches are pick one).
@EriktheOutgolfer Yeah, the other thing I've been kicking around is a tab with various watch options and you could check all the ones you wanted to send. Obviously, it would be nice to have that pruned based on what was already watched/blacklisted.
@EriktheOutgolfer Yeah, but I've been wanting to implement tabs to have access to several different pages of information. For example: post revisions, full question page, user page, MS page, other MS reports for the same post, MS user page, MS page for the post that caused the user to be blacklisted, etc. Basically, there are a bunch of pages which I routinely open when looking at a report. It would be nice to have all of them easily available in one place.
@Makyen currently, FIRE is a small, elegant pop-up at the top-left... if so many tabs get there, it might no longer be elegant (i.e. either small with "»"s or just squished tabs or large with reduced focus on the report as a consequence)
@EriktheOutgolfer Yeah, there's two general camps on that. One is having it be what it is, a relatively small popup. The other is something larger and more feature-full. The two things are appropriate for different size screens. Personally, I find the popup quite small and limiting, particularly when it makes the rest of the page unusable when displayed. It's reasonable that the latter may be a different script that people could choose to use as an alternative, or enabled via a configuration option.
FYI: There's a SpaceX Falcon Heavy launch scheduled for today. The launch window opens in about 30 minutes. Webcast on SpaceX site; Webcast on YouTube. Both side boosters will be attempting to land at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida. The core should be landing on the drone ship.
