@EriktheOutgolfer The backoff FIRE reports is received from the MS API in response to flagging, MS passes it though from the SE API when the SE API responds with a backoff to MS' request to the SE API to raise the flag for you. FIRE currently does nothing with the backoff, other than report it to the user. Effectively, this means that the user is supposed to guess how long they should wait until attempting to flag again (it's usually 10 seconds). Obviously, this could be improved.

@Willeke The true "spam" is a solicited promotion without disclosure; usually involving a link that points to advertisements and/or commercial product lists.
To me it does not feel like a spam post, but I do take the user who reported it serious (not someone to cry fire) and wanted a second opinion. But you are also feeling it as 'not a spam' post. I will ask for a disclosure and give the user who posted the link the option to claim connection.

@SmokeDetector I raised a custom mod-flag when this was first reported. It has not yet been handled. The user has had at least two posts using these shortened URLs which go to their blog (username AAA matches the initials of the author of the blog and the name of the company for which they are the CEO/founder)
