@Ferrybig you need to use the /a link not the share link
that will scan the question

I think it may be a compromising solution to squash messages into one multiline message.

I have another idea to work around the message throttling issue

@SmokeDetector k

sd k

Just use another instance from another IP for MS messages
So then there are too many MS messages, the "messenger" gets rate-limited but the scanner remains mostly OK.

@iBug @Mithrandir Mind giving me a TL;DR about what happened to my RPi?

4:24 PM
We could also collapse the feedback messages in a single message, like a single message containg "tpu- by me on post 1 [MS], tpu- by me on post 2 [MS], ", if smokey detects rate limits for them

@SmokeDetector @iBug have a look at how these messages are generated - they have line breaks

@Ferrybig To some degree we can, but then we run into message length limits — especially if we’re including lots of links

@NobodyNada How many characters would Smokey's "rollover" messages be?

@NobodyNada Even if we collapse it every 2 MS feedback messages, we have some gain, of course, we cannot do it forever

I think we'll just give up MD formatting when messages are collapsed.

4:27 PM
@CalvT븃 The drawback of those rollback messages is that markdown doesn't work, and clickable links to MS without user scripts are useful

@Ferrybig Well it's a cost benefit calculation basically - what is more important, clickable links, or Smokey reporting real-time in situations like this?

Link
in [multiline](https://stackoverflow.com)
Link still works partially

True - it's markdown that doesn't work

I'll spare some time this weekend and make the change by collapsing multiple messages into one multiline.

Zoe
If you need gain, can't you filter messages from SD that are on feedback and block those? Not all the time, but it being togglable would at least reduce the amount of messages

@Ferrybig OK, I should clarify something: Smokey is scanning and hitting these posts in real time. You can see them in the MS review queue.
The problem is that they're not making it to chat until later
and reviewing them from MS exacerbates it
So, watch the MS review queue, and use !!/feedback to send feedback from here
