A: Support for OpenID ends on July 1, 2018

Jeremy BanksIf it's easy (big "if"), is there any chance of getting a site-agnostic global-auth login page at https://stackauth.com/users/login, for bots to use? It wouldn't be part of any user-facing website, so it wouldn't create any misleading expectations like preserving the login on stackexchange.com.

@Undo That's a neat auth system.

@micsthepick That's one of the reasons they make password managers.

I am now a core user on MS

@SmokeDetector Anyone know if "BugRem tool" from BugRem.com actually does take screen shots? This question is specifically asking or such tools. Thus, I'd normally go fp here.

@Makyen it's description seems to be: "Great teams trust BugRem on collecting feedback & tracking bugs. Bug tracking and browser testing was never easier. Try it for free."
According to the website: "Its usefulness is mainly in the management of the screenshots taken by the customers"
It doesn't seem free though; only a trial period.
IMO, not spam.

It's advertising, but because the question asks for it, it's not spam under the definitions which are used on SO. It's a bad question, and I've voted to close, but that's not the fault of the answer.

i.e. "1 2 3".split(" ", 1) should be ["1", "2 3"] not ["1"]

@quartata Functioning as documented. Not, necessarily, the most convenient implementation, but it's doing what it says on the tin. You can always create a wrapper which does what you desire.

not blaming the implementation
just blaming the design

Yeah, I can understand that. Having the remainder available is convenient for many things.

@micsthepick Could be. The response from SD is clearly indicating it had a problem with the 2nd command.

Yes, the second command did not work when it had that

I don't have a problem leaving the user on the blacklist. The post was probably spam, but on an appropriate question. If they post something that's a good answer, then people will fp it, which will remove them from the blacklist (if done from chat).

@micsthepick you can't.
that's embedded in the existing metasmoke processes

Yeah you need an MS key for autopull

3:32 AM
well, basically I wan't to execute !!/pull

@micsthepick since I don't see your bot connected to the central MetaSmoke instance, I have to assume you're either running your own MS instance
@micsthepick so just execute !!/pull
in the control channel for the bot

I did

and if that fails, then check the error logs

nothing happened

Oh. It ignores its own messages.
(you shouldn't run it on your own account)

@micsthepick ^ that

GH?

@micsthepick create a second account
give the bot that accoiunt
you can't sanely run it from your own account because it ignores its own user ID's messages.

also you need to run it with nocrash for pull to work

gotcha

@ThomasWard it's by ID but yeah

3:34 AM
@quartata ultimately the same thing

@quartata (I ran with python3 nocrash.py)

still need to use a separate account
I used AquariusOne when I was testing the thing silently - AQ1 is my bot/sockpuppet

why can't i hold all these bot accounts
anyways you might also have git up wrong since when Thomas did it it didn't work

^ this
though i ended up saying "screw it" and since I already had the GH creds I just add SSH keys to the Smokey git account. But, i'm entrusted with those credentials, and SSH based git auth is saner than storing the password inside the git configs :P

@angussidney I do not have any existing account as such.

8:16 AM
Doesn't look like it. I haven't heard a huge number of complaints

@iBug Yep. Although, you could get more complex if you wanted to adjust the maximum body height based on the size of the user's viewport. The 450px was just what was reasonable for me (i.e. under the few conditions I tested, it still allowed me to see everything else on the page I was interested in). Obviously, you should adjust it to what works for you.

@NVZ yep

@NVZ if this works properly, you'll get a ping in chat any second now

@iBug np. I was working on userscripts anyway. Joining the Charcoal Team really messed with the SO UI. I'm almost at the point where it's back to being acceptable. That doesn't count having to adapt the top-bar back to where I want it.

@NVZ yeah, that email verification thing is a hackish solution that Undo put together so that you don't have to have a @charcoal-se.org email
Basically, you put in the email, which is unique so SO will send an email to it

NVZ
Hmm.. I suppose we'll wait and see.

Then Undo's email server will look at the email, take the link from inside, and ping the user

it says to use naa if:

The one we just had was clearly good for R/A
I was talking about potential cases by experienced users.

which depends on whether you consider gibberish from an established user as spam/offensive.
