@JakeSymons that was me, I noticed that we both were on 1 rep

@JakeSymons because real people upvote my posts?

@Glorfindel Or you can just spawn other bots to come and give you upvotes :)

@micsthepick they're mostly used for documentation as it seems, so it makes sense for the people asking them to know the answer

so in theory, five hours from now I should have the "core" role
metasmoke.erwaysoftware.com/post/109655 is still showing up in review for me
I can see my feedback
is this a known bug?

@SmokeDetector hi

JAD
is it just me or is Astronomy receiving less spam recently?

@SmokeDetector @Jake you sure it's NAA?

JAD
I flagged it as VLQ (equiv to NAA)

Oh, when you put it that way
@SmokeDetector N

(not sure if that's something that should be taken into account for feedback)

Shrug

NAA feedback has never been taken seriously.
It doesn't conflict with tpu or fp.
Such a pacifist
Damn swiss

@micsthepick Posts require a minimum of two feedbacks now.

okay

10:14 PM
@micsthepick this breaks the record of the most confusing thing in MS history
metasmoke, not Microsoft

so basically, just hit skip

Don't touch anything
@SmokeDetector k

@M.A.R. what's wrong with hitting skip?
(If you gave feedback once)

10:36 PM
@ArtOfCode you wouldn't happen to have a favicon version of the Charcoal logo handy would you?

Nope
Not for a few days at least

@ArtOfCode Almost there
SES all hooked up to receive email and forward to metasmoke, just trying to figure out why there are random newlines everywhere

Fine for me to merge our updated Circle config?

Yep

In today's news: Drunk people leave hilarious voicemails

Okay, here we go. All-up test.
(email is slow)

close

Nearly

not bad

Just need a username to stick it to

SmokeDetector.send_message_to_charcoal("@#{} Your Channels join link: #{link}")
this does not work
okay, one more try and I'll commit it

@odnu Your Channels join link: stackoverflow.com/c/charcoal/join/…

there we go
A few people want to click that link for me?

11:41 PM
Done

Want to see if it's sticky to an account
\o/ still worked

CI on db867e1 succeeded.

@SmokeDetector hmm, that could be an issue

@Undo we should make this the only domain

11:43 PM
Each of the jobs reports as a separate status check

then we can enforce having Metasmoke roles and what not
it's a good idea

Or @charcoal-se.org

can't do that; it needs its own MX record pointing to SES
@quartata Can't really do that; all the information I have is the user-provided email address
well maybe the email contains a user identifier

It can have one of those if it needs to
MX that is

@Undo well it wouldn't have one that would be useful to us most likely
otherwise it'd be easy to forge

11:45 PM
@ArtOfCode But you've already got an MX for whatever email there already is

Aye, but I think I can do split routing

ehh
probably not worth it

True

This seems like a good balance between 'closed to outsiders' (which we don't like) and 'completely open to anyone with an email' (which SE doesn't like)
Gotta know enough to have seen that pinned message. Pretty good barrier to entry.

[ metasmoke ] ci/circleci failure on bff24d5: Your tests failed on CircleCI

@Undo I hate newlines too! Fun fact: Rubys built in ERB implimentation automagically inserts newlines at the end of everything it compiles and I just wasted 30 minutes figuring that out.

Why would it do that?

Each of the jobs reports as a separate status check

I don't know, but now my tests are coated in #chomp

11:51 PM
And therefore if the linter passes but pytest fails, a commit will still be autopulled

Not metasmoke related, just complaining because I saw a mention of newlines.

@JAD seems like it.
