After signing up for Channels, I find that a hefty percentage of the left margin is blank most of the time.
The content of the side bar is visible and very occasionally useful when you are at the top of the page, but when you scroll down, as most of us often do, it simply eats a slice of your di...
At launch we don't plan on having diamond moderators. We're removing links to many of the moderator tools and we're going to be removing the routes too. None of them should have an effect on the main site, but some links from a channel might go to a page on the main site so be careful. Look at th...

is there a specific use case for the channel yet? I'm not sure whether there is much point for me to join the channel beyond being interested in seeing what's going on
@JAD Do note that joining the channel will change the UI which you see for StackOverflow . It adds a (bad) left sidebar and changes the top navigation bar. I don't know of a way to change it back (other than writing a userscript).
@AJ not sure what you mean, the plan is for Stack Exchange to charge for this service eventually but we are in private beta for free and nobody knows what happens next
I find it hard to believe that they would start charging us, but it's possible that they will turn it off one day if they think we cost more than we contribute

@Federico That's a bug, right? I don't remember it asking me if I wanted to change it everywhere because I would have said no. The profile contents are still separate but the SO image has overwritten my SE one.
@Henders I have no idea if it qualifies as a bug. I simply went back to aviation and re-changed it there. the image is still in the cache, so you don't have to reupload it
@SurajRao when signing for channels there are not 2 buttons, and also after uploading on the other sites now there is only the "save for all sites" button, you need to click a small notice to make the "save only here" one re-appear
