ok codecov are you serious right now
@angussidney ok so I don't think the allspam failure is the test's fault, something seems to be busted
the manual report thing I think I know the problem tho
Yeah, it's because things aren't added to the GlobalVars.latest_questions until spamhandling
so because I'm mocking that it's not storing the post for checking for reeeeeposts later
I'll just fake it by adding it in then

OK... I'm a bit dense but can anyone here help me with following the instructions here:

@Catija Try clearing your tokens (if you go to the Apps button in the dropdown there should be an option to invalidate tokens), then follow these instructions to clear it. Finally, try again. For debugging purposes, what OS/browser/version are you using?
I'm not sure what apps button in which drop down I'm looking for.
For reference, I'm trying to get one of the scripts to work:

OK... I've granted FDSC access like six times and it's not sticking... any recommendations?

Do you block cookies or localstorage?

I block third party cookies, I think. Do I need to whitelist something?
I don't know what localstorage is, so I'm guessing that the settings for that are default.

@SmokeDetector why does it say non-latin. What language is it in>?

@JakeSymons Post - Text contains 31 non-Latin characters out of 33

@SmokeDetector post non-translatable

Gibberish in Arabic letters.

@Glorfindel so someone with an Arabic keyboard has just gone like -wrhisnlfgrsdbhk

@Catija IIRC the token is stored in a cookie from metasmoke.erwaysoftware.com - you might have to whitelist that domain

@JakeSymons yes, quite likely.

My flag has been pending since the 20th, is it normal for them to take that long

8:16 PM
@ByteCommander I have three metasmoke.erwaysoftware.com cookies.
One of them is "remember_user_token"... I'm guessing that's the one I want.

probably

@JF This is your script, right?

_metasmoke_session is your user session data; remember_user_token keeps you logged in past browser restarts

J F
@Catija FDSC?

@JF Yes
@ArtOfCode I have that one, too
I'm happy to try what angussidney said but I'm not sure what apps button I'm looking for.

8:19 PM

@ArtOfCode I have 8 active tokens...
:/

eh, that ain't a problem
I have 9 for FIRE
they only need one, but more existing doesn't break things

So... dev tools is... f12?

aye

J F
@Catija I’m not a maintainer of that :(

8:25 PM
@JF Ah. OK. :D

should work if you take away the "allow pasting" line
oh wait that's actually a thing
okay, stick a semicolon on the end of both lines

Ok. I had to run away from my laptop but I'll try it in a bit. Thanks.

Is it possible to search by votes but in reverse order, so that the ones with the lest votes come at the top.
The reason I ask is that the ones with minus votes are normally got spam and I can flag it.

@Glorfindel yeah, some of them actually probably are useful features for detection development, too

@tripleee Added (?:1\W*)?661\W*533\W*3371 to watchlist

Would that be a SmokeDetector or a Metasmoke GitHub issue?

9:17 PM
CI on 7948990 succeeded. Message contains 'autopull', pulling...

@Glorfindel we need both I think; SmokeDetector does the listening and reporting and Metasmoke needs a schema update to store the tags

Restart: API quota is 10789.

so SmokeDetector tells Metasmoke what to store and Metasmoke needs to be able to handle the request
but I'd go with a Metasmoke ticket, we need the back end support before we can work on implementing front-end reporting

<politics>In today's Timelines to Gawp At in Astounded Wonderment, Confusion, and Horror: this one</politics>

While I'm waiting for angus to fix allspam I think I'll fork MS and start doing the basic Helios stuff

most of Helios is outside of MS
afaik only key management is done by MS

MS needs to use it for blacklisting users

nah, that'll still be Smokey
MS send a blacklist request over the websocket to Smokey, and Smokey does the blacklist

which then has to go to Helios anyways

10:58 PM
Yeah, but it's because MS has to send a WS message either way - either it sends a blacklist request and lets Smokey blacklist, or it does the blacklist and sends a WS message to tell Smokey to re-fetch the blacklists
Since Smokey's the autonomous component, it makes most sense (to me, at least) to let it do the lot, rather than adding extra async, non-request-contextual actions to metasmoke

hmm
there are the other things that I think it can stop telling Smokey to do but Helios doesn't store those yet
although we could do the blacklist requests now
fwiw datahandling is pretty monolithic and it might be better to go through and find out what we actually need to keep on that front first
metasmoke.py is also due for a spring cleaning
although it's not that bad but I think we do need to evaluate what Metasmoke asks Smokey to do. The most egregious one to me is manually reporting, which ends up with MS sending it to Smokey and then Smokey sending it back in a separate request after it goes through spamhandling
incidentally that's one of the few uses of apigetpost I know of

GitHub has a new shiny that we may want to use: team discussions. We can have our bigger or longer discussions there, and they end up more discoverable than they do in chat, and they also don't clog up issues with [feedback wanted]. This is what they look like:
@quartata huh? Manual reports start with Smokey. Do you mean API reports?
cuz we don't really have any other option for those - metasmoke doesn't have the spamhandling code, or the chat connection, so it can't handle the report itself

11:36 PM
@ArtOfCode API reports, yes
Obviously the chat connection will require a message to Smokey
it just bugs me that then Smokey has to send another request back to make the MS record
@ArtOfCode So that's what the new everyone team is for I take it?
