However, the current issue is that notifications aren't synced between smokey instances, so when we switch hosts you might need to re-add your notification
I'm sure I used to get notifications - possibly from this room. It helps to be made aware of possible spam on my site, rather than monitoring this room all the time. So there is no harm in it? And if the notifications don't persist that might explain why they stopped happening.
The way it works has changed, hasn't it? I used to see people doing tpu etc. and then a response, but now I see stuff like "tpu- by suraj". Is that swallowing the command and then responding with the person that did it?
the first feedback gets reported here if it was received by some other means (suraj is probably using the FIRE userscript but it would also happen if the feedback came from another chat room)
AIM just cleans up what you see here in the chat room, while FIRE adds a dialog so you can click on spam here in the chat room and examine and flag it without leaving this tab

Should we change the sd delete|poof|gone commands in CHQ to say something like ”Messages from SmokeDetector in Charcoal HQ are generally kept as records. If you really need to delete a message, please use sd delete-force [wiki link for more info](some URL)?”
However, the way in which report interaction commands operate is somewhat black magic for me, so I'll have to leave it to someone else to try and implement it
@Henders Then we should change it so that they should use sudo sd delete-force --force --noconfirm --rmrf/ --no-preserve-root --explicit-permission-to-delete-kittens
@Mithrandir Yeah, that's nice. We only really care about deleting useful information. If sd delete deletes low value messages and only requires you to do -force if it's a specific type, then that works as a nice sense check on whether you should delete what you are trying to delete.
@Henders if you are being serious, it checks if the site is already watched / pattern-matched / whatever but if none of those apply, it will happily blacklist whatever you gave to it
@tripleee Yep, being serious. So that command can work straight off with no need to force which means it is often worth trying it first. If you make sd delnever delete a message and always suggest you use a different command, why would I ever bother running sd del if I actually wanted something deleted. @JF
@Henders I guess the idea is to prevent people who are used to deleting messages in other rooms from doing that here purely by mistake, not to prevent us from ever deleting anything
