@Andy @ArtOfCode dumb question, but whey is the blacklist even part of the code base?
shouldnt it be pulled from a third party database ... like metasmoke

CI on b400790 succeeded. Message contains 'autopull', pulling...
Restart: API quota is 13616.

@CaffeineAddiction I'd have to hunt down the previous discussion, but I believe it's because adding the git sub-repository didn't actually gain us anything. The blacklists were a step away from pulling this stuff out of the code directly. Personally, I'd love to pull it completely out of git so that all instances of Smokey can share the data (not just blacklists)

@Andy well thats just it ... external database for all the smokey clones so as to share persistant data ... users / access / blacklists / etc
all the logging is using that form of a system already ... (see metasmoke) ... why not do it for all persistent data

3:18 PM
@CaffeineAddiction You're preaching to the choir :)

@JF Server boots, but hitting localhost:5000 gets me an error: authenticatable_salt returned nil for the User model. @JF gotcha. Looks like the onLoad handler don't work. The #create_filter onclick from the API JS doesn't fire.
Yeah, swapping it with a $(document).on('turbolinks:load') does work

J F
@ArtOfCode Looks like I forgot the path. Try adding '/api/filters', before the function declaration:
onLoad('/api/filters', () => {

@JF wait, what? That doesn't seem like it should have a path. If I set a load handler, I want it to always fire
or what if I change the route
alternative: if typeof(arguments[0]) === 'function', make it always fire, and if it's a string filter it to a path

J F
right, that was me being dumb. Wrong function.
hrm:
export function onLoad(cb) {
  $(document).on('turbolinks:load', cb);
}

@jf Either my eyes re playing tricks, or something is causing it, when I switch to another tab, and then come back after 2 minutes, it seems like the effect is the strongest because SDS suddenly processes all pings

@JF yeah, I just got there as well. So why does onLoad(() => { ... }) fail while $(document).on('turbolinks:load', () => { ... }) works?

J F
8:04 PM
IDK. Does the callback get called?

@JF may have been a temporary thing, looks okay now
weirdness

J F
gremlins

@ArtOfCode FYI, in ES 6 you don't need arguments anymore. You can use the spread syntax to extract function arguments as an array, for example (...args) => console.log(args).

8:07 PM
@MichałPerłakowski aye, I know, just a top-of-my-head example
...apparently nobody ever enabled API use for the moderator_sites table. That'll be fun.

You can use template literal here.
There's no need to assign $(this) to a variable here, because arrow functions don't bind they're own this anyway.
Same here.

Sounds like you got yourself a PR :)
@JF okay, if these are gremlins they're persistent little buggers. Problem comes back after restarting the server.

8:23 PM
Is it OK to put all these changes in one PR?

And, more importantly, repro on current live MS.
@MichałPerłakowski yeah, someone'll review the lot anyway
Also, @JF, how do I enable client-side debug messages?
I know we have a const debug in most files, how do I view stuff that scripts log to it?

J F
@ArtOfCode localStorage.debug = 'ms:<js file name>'
