I can be available for answering to stuff from when it's posted to roughly 15.30 UK time, and then again from 16.00 UK time till 19.00 UK time

I'm sure we'll have enough people available for comments/welcoming new users here, regardless of posting time. But it doesn't make sense to me to post it while one of the key players is (probably) offline.

@Glorfindel That really can't be avoided

It's got to be at least morning somewhere

the metasmoke graphs might be a good place to get a feeling of the cycles metasmoke.erwaysoftware.com/graphs

@Magisch it's always morning somewhere :)

by somewhere I mean somewhere relevant for the site

1:59 PM
@Magisch 9am Eastern US/7am Mountain is a good time. That offsets the suggested time by 2 hours and it's a US holiday on Monday

so either US or EU
Holiday on monday complicates things
That'd mean ideally we wait until the monday after that

correction: It's a minor US holiday. Likely schools are closed, but businesses that aren't government based or banks are open

[ SmokeDetector | MS ] Link at end of answer: Is that any API for getting data from Android Play Store by Dmitry Zasypkin on stackoverflow.com (@dorukayhan)

@Magisch it doesn't need to be posted on a Monday.

No. We are gaming this to much. I'd be happy with posting it today. Really the only thing I think it is missing is a single graph that shows deletion time on posts
There is nothing wrong with posting on a Friday (look a Joel's post). It's not like MSO/MSE die over the week and get no visitors. It will be seen.

2:01 PM
@Andy I mean, thats your/undos/arts call

(Or thursday...today is only thursday :( )

I'm happy with the draft. I can live without that last graph. At this point, it's a nice to have

@ArtOfCode opinions?

@Andy you never get a second chance to make a first impression. That graph is going to be awesome, I feel we need it.

Member since today, 3 answers, all three cheap plugs for his russian paid service website

good for finding API recommendation questions which should be closed as off-topic though!

spammers do have their uses, but they are few and far between.

Honestly, I'm happy with posting today too. Ideally I'd like a deletion time graph with series for before flagging, with 1 flag, and with 3 flags - but it's not essential, and could be edited in later.

2:11 PM
@ArtOfCode I think it is essential. Spam on SO gets deleted fairly quickly anyway, so people might think it's not a big deal.

@ArtOfCode Since you and andy agree, pretty much only undo left (who needs to be consultet) then, right?

I don't know Ruby so I can't do it. I looked at the code and think I know what to do, but without a ruby environment, I wasn't going to just guess

@Andy the graph itself isn't too difficult, I just don't have a data dump to run against

I could probably write a SQL to pull the dataset and graph it in ms access but you don't want a fugly ms access 2003 graph in your otherwise modern post
@ArtOfCode don't you have console while undo is on the road?

@Magisch not that I know of

2:13 PM
Mhm
So left to wait for undo
or go without the graph

Alternatively, is that information available via the API?
I haven't looked

Possibly on a per-post basis, certainly not in aggregate

Hm. That might be usable

But realistically, it's one line of Ruby - I might as well throw it on the graphs page, and wait for Undo to turn up and do a deploy

You win. I was going to take more than 1 line of code

2:16 PM
And then

Well to be fair, it's one very long line that I'd probably split across multiple. But it is one call.

Who will stand and answer after we post it? Assuming undo's rhytm, he should be on soon

@Magisch might do - let's see how much response we get. I'd like to have @Undo and @Andy answering questions for obvious enough reasons, but if we get more than we can handle then your help would also be good

Ok. In the API filters there are deletion_log filters. How do I use those? Are they associated with posts?

@Andy they might be entirely useless, actually :)

oh

2:21 PM
you'd need an API route that joins that table for them to have any effect at all - let me see if there is one

Then today is the day we take the plunge
Into the danger zone

@Andy posts-by-urls joins deletion logs, so you might get away with filtering those fields in

Hm, that makes it much more complicated. OK. Let me see if I can figure out a way to do this without hitting MS a ton
it's not on the /search route?
