@Nathaniel the system treats smokey like just another registered user. so yes, it needs permission to talk in mod-only rooms & rooms with limited write access

If you wanted notifications in that room, we could set Smokey up to post reports on Christianity in there, and then you could add the notification.

That said, for the volume of spam Christianity gets (read: none), I'm not sure it's worth it

One way to avoid this room getting swamped by people from the meta post could be to create a “Charcoal Lobby” room (or some similar name) where people can come to learn more.

Let the room get swarmed. There is nothing wrong with that. It's not like there is a lack of room owners or mods should something horrible happen. Assuming it doesn't, because there is no reason it should, having them in this room will show the room in action
