@Andy looks fine

"features you're wondering about or would like to see added or things we might have missed in the process or the tooling." > "features you're wondering about or would like to see added, or things we might have missed in the process or the tooling."
" added, or things" <-- comma there

An Oxford comma?

Otherwise, the two "or"s seem related
the "things we might have missed" isn't related to "features you're wondering about or would like to see added"

2:05 PM
I'm already convinced the comma needs to be there. Or do you add your reasoning for Jan

Not convinced enough :D

"We have had many talented developers assist us over the years" Oh, they upped and left then? How about "Many talented developers have assisted us and continue to do so".
In any case "have had" is not correct English ...

It looks like correct English to me.

@DavidPostill ...No? I have had it come up many times.

Have had sounds correct to me

@DavidPostill No pseudo-grammar in this chat

2:20 PM
@DavidPostill have had is "have" in present perfect

The confusion arises because it's an auxiliary have and a non-aux one

> [...] The present perfect in English is used chiefly for completed past actions or events when it is understood that it is the present result of the events that is focused upon, rather than the moment of completion. No particular past time frame is specified for the action/event. [...]

"We've had" Fix'd.

Yes, it's used for perfective aspectuality

*Googles "aspectuality"*

2:22 PM
I'm using superior terminology so I must be right

I picked up something from english major in HS
:P

OK, but it is awkward. Better would be "Many talented developers have assisted us over the years" 1/ It reads better 2/ There is no ambiguity about whether they are still helping us.

Some are not

@Andy Pedant :)

I need to fit in some how, and I don't think I could use words like "perfective aspectuality" :)

2:27 PM
@Andy But the revised sentence doesn't specify whether they are or aren't still helping.

relax
We got until monday to get the formulation right

Slapjack, also known as Slaps, is a simple standard-deck card game, generally played among children. It can often be a child's first introduction to playing cards. The game is related to Egyptian Ratscrew and is also sometimes known as Heart Attack. It is also related to the simpler 'slap' card games often called snap. == Gameplay == A 52-card deck is divided into face-down stacks as equally as possible between all players. One player removes the top card of his stack and places it face-up on the playing surface within reach of all players. The players take turns doing this in a clockwise manner...
If two cards placed consecutively on the pile are identical (or, if a conventional pack of cards is used, are of the same number), the first player to shout "Snap!" and place his hand on the top of the central pile takes the pile of cards and adds them to the bottom of their stack. The player who accumulates all the cards wins.

@ArtOfCode @Undo dumb question ... SD sees a new post, marks it as spam, grabs 3 random API keys and Flags spam ... however if one of the users marks something as tpu- ... why does SD look up there api key and mark the post as spam on there behalf (if there key hasnt been used yet) or use another api key (if there API key was randomly used already)?

@SmokeDetector you are gray. The post isn't deleted.

@CaffeineAddiction Oooooh, that might actually be the cause of this issue I just raised: github.com/Charcoal-SE/userscripts/issues/36

@CaffeineAddiction You're suggesting an additional autoflag based on feedback

@Mithrandir It was

@ArtOfCode But it isn't

@Mithrandir All the websocket does is say "X has been deleted"

@SmokeDetector f

@CaffeineAddiction A year ago, I'd have agreed with you, but these days we have FDSC. Most of our feedback comes from people flagging things manually - so setting up MS to try to flag in their name after feedback would be pointless

3:11 PM
fdsc is a fine piece of script

where is FDSC?

How far we've come from the days of manual feedback

Yeah, failure of system design. We only hold the post deletion websocket until it's deleted, at which point we say "yep, that's gone, no need to monitor it any more" - so we don't see undeletions.
and thus can't send them down our own socket
