@Magisch I gave you a ping in SOCVR with a link to the first version.

@ArtOfCode I got the 1.5 version from this transcript
I guess the functionality to sd-k posts you flag as spam isn't in yet?

@Magisch not yet, no

Ahh
The rest of it works though
Could I maybe get SD privs in the tavern?

I'm debating how to design that right now. I'm getting the feedback stats out of the MS API; I've got the MS post ID. What I don't have is the chat message ID, which I'd need to post a chat message for feedback. The alternative is restrictive: only those with approved MS accounts can feedback.
@Magisch sure, I can't get to GH right now though. Maybe if @Ferrybig is around, he can do it?

9:05 AM
I can make the PR myself, just someone will have to approve it

I am around now

There we are then :)

What stops your script from scanning this chat room's transscript for the post art?

I also need to add myself to the tavern one time

@Magisch how expensive that would be...
I could do it, but it would be regex matching and a whole lot of DOM traversal, which would not be quick.

9:08 AM
@Magisch Are you making a pull request now? Or must I add you to the list?

@Ferrybig Im making one

Honestly, the best way would be to actually use the chat_message_id field. Have Smokey send the chat message ID to MS, then it'll be returned in the API.
Morning @Wad. What brings you here?

@ArtOfCode That'd be best
I keep forgetting you have the ability to modify the metasmoke api :p

Howdy, just flailing around aimlessly in mild annoyance.

Yeah, it's not the SE API :)
@WadCheber sounds like fun

9:11 AM
Smoke Detector soothes me.

mmm all the lovely spam
@Magisch It'd be another thread in Smokey, and some careful design. But it's doable.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding how smokey feeds to metasmoke
What stops you from just including the post ID in the packet of info you feed to metasmoke anyways?

@Magisch we already send the post ID; it's the chat message ID I need.

Well yeah
but thats just an extra field, isn't it?

That's currently not done because Smokey pings the stuff to metasmoke at the same time as it posts the message. It doesn't actually know the message ID until after it's sent the info.

9:16 AM
You're sending like <post id> <post title> <reason> <post author> <body content> to Metasmoke
Ooh

I'm not even sure it knows the message ID after that... getting it would probably be some ChatExchange gymnastics.

does the SE api allow retrieving of chat messages based on a search?

The SE API doesn't cover chat at all, annoyingly

Now that is annoying

!!/PULL

9:18 AM
You could after every report queue a command that has smokey trawl the chat for the exact previous post he made

The CE library provides most of the stuff we need, but it's cobbled together based on scrapes and raw POST requests.

And then record that post's post ID

Restart: API quota is 6998.

@Magisch that's basically what we'd have to do, unless CE can provide the ID

9:19 AM
Ow

Gymnastics. It's possible - we can use another thread to avoid blocking the main operations - but it's slow.
Our options are:

How good is the metasmoke api in terms of speed

(1) to continue sending the post packet to metasmoke while we post the message, then trawl for the message ID and send another request to metasmoke to update the post.
(2) delay sending; send everything at once after we've collected the message ID

If its good enough you could query to inflect how many reports there have been since then and just use the appropiate sd <whatever>k command
Your (1) is the same as (2) except you let the main thread wait for it

[ SmokeDetector ] Bad keyword in title, blacklisted website in body, link at end of body: Boost Up Muscles And Pump Your Body With Test Force Max Ultra by camilehavis on arduino.stackexchange.com (@NickGammon)

9:22 AM
Using (1) requires some careful metasmoke dev. Using (2) leaves a delay between posting the message and the content being available on metasmoke.
sd k

Well
Whatever you want :p
As added benefit we can then add the chat link to the report to the metasmoke page

@Magisch That, on the other hand, is actually not a bad idea.

The problem would be then if smokey reports a post right as you're sending your sd k to chat through the script

Requires one more API route, I do believe, but I can already think of the code for that.
@Magisch That, as ever, is the problem. But that's also a problem with manual feedback.

Yah

9:25 AM
If I add [auto] to the end of the message, then people in the room can ping the sender if it conflicted.

Here's an idea: Make a new sd k like command, for auto
It only records when the post being feedbacked on is older then <time>
Time could be 2 or 3 seconds

That also has potential - don't even need a new command, just check if the message contains [auto].

Yea
checking if the message contains something would be a new command :p

Semantics. Same code either way, pretty much.

In general, we could make it that smokey rejects feedback within 2 seconds of reporting the post

9:27 AM
Okay, that sounds viable.

I argue that even judging a post by its title and then typing out the sd k takes longer then that

@Magisch I could actually time it. Time how long it takes between receiving the results of the metasmoke API query and the POST to chat returning success.
Average it over 100 runs, add 50%, and we have a value.
I think it'll probably be less than 2 seconds
metasmoke in particular is fast

Yeah but you have to add a tolerance
:p

that's the 50%

Yah
That sounds good

@SmokeDetector k

Also in your script, you could add a checkbox "manually report this Q/A" when no smokey report is found

Ack, did that guy manually edit spam?
@Yvette perfect example of the problem, @Magisch

Yeah

9:31 AM
@ArtOfCode I was posting sd k to the previous post

@Magisch yep, that's also a good idea

is that what you're talking about?

@Yvette yeah, that's exactly the issue we were just talking about :)

@SmokeDetector f

That would make it so that privileged users can both feedback and report spam when trawling around, without tabbing to this :p

9:32 AM
@ArtOfCode that's happened to me before

Having that running for a while could provide a path for SE to implement something like that directly

I don't want my stats to be bad :( it's not spam

@Yvette User is not blacklisted.

If we modify SD to reject feedback posted within 2 seconds or so of the report, we potentially get rid of that problem.

@Yvette Thats why I always use the direct reply for feedback in chat

9:33 AM
@ArtOfCode well it didn't take that as spam feedback!

3 of my 6 all time invalid feedbacks are from that bug :(

@Magisch yep good idea
some of invalid were from misunderstanding how to feedback, and others from being distracted and not focusing, a couple from this

@Magisch something like what?

With reports and feedback in the flag dialog
That sounds like something that would be really, really easy for SE to include in the spamblocker
If they see that it works, that is. But I think it will

yep

Cloud mining is a scam though
Its a blatant scam

@Yvette 'fraid so :) Don't worry about it.

And the only reason he's posting it is because they have referral bonuses

@ArtOfCode I actually think the first one was an attempt to answer with the opportunity of advertising

Hello Murch

@Murch hi!
thanks for coming

we've had an issue with something on bitcoin.SE

morning Murch :) you've got a ping from me in TL, too

Yes, I've noticed

This guy has 2 spam posts now, one has been edited by a regular

9:43 AM
the second one is just about disclosed

The posts are disclosing affiliation, but they're promoting a pyramid-scheme scam

the first one is now deleted

@Magisch I saw that he was promoting his blog, but where did he advertise a pyramid-scheme?

@Murch Read the first revision of the first (now deleted) post
And read his block

Ah, I only saw it after it was edited

9:47 AM
He's promotion affiliate pool mining
They have large referral bonuses

in a shortlink also

So the only reason he's posting at all is because he wants the multilevel marketing money

yeah, sure I'm getting that now

I think you can destroy users as mod
:P

@Magisch Yes, I'm aware of that

9:49 AM
they make a cartoon boom sound if you're lucky

Just give me a few minutes to get my bearings before shooting to kill.

We got involved only because smokey is running here and picked up the first spam post
