12:03 PM
sd k
@Magisch yep

What is the local wildlife in australia? Roided out 'Roos and drop bears and deadly snakes and spiders?
What chance does a house cat stand against that

@Magisch Actually it's an interesting stereotype I know is common, apart from the far north where there are crocs about (and it's too hot for anyone sensible to live) there really aren't too many dangerous animals likely to attack I can think of. For example the state I live in every snake is (very) venomous but they just run off and there's antivenom anyway.

@PeterJ exaclty
a lot of birds Mag

Idk

and some small furry critters also

12:05 PM
All I hear about Australia is about the funny local dialects or how everything wants to kill you, including the plants

we have a large number of dangerous animals and rarely is someone ever killed by them
yeh, it's a joke

Probably because people that have survived that long in australia know not to touch stuff that looks cheesy

to keep people away from the best kept secret on the globe

The most dangerous animal that you could possibly cross here is a small (up to 11cm long) snake whose venom is like a bee sting
only less painful
Maybe a raccoon, these are not to be trifled with

12:08 PM
as Peter said most snakes will run away, a death adder will freeze and stay still, you'd be pretty unlucky to step on one
sd k
there are some aggressive snakes, but it's pretty easy to avoid them

I have regular owls on my balcony
they will not leave

I know. it's nice :D

and im not going anywhere near picking up a giant owl

nice place you live

Not sure if this is still accurate but in Germany you probably have an animal that used to kill more people in Australia than any other - bees (although I think that's still only a handful a year)

12:10 PM
We have bees
but I dont consider bees a pest
they're nice, and they don't invade or deliberately mess up people

that's the point, neither does Peter

Wasps on the other hand....

our "dangerous" animals are peace loving, they just want to get on with it and don't bother us, if you know how to navigate in the bush and the beaches
wasps are painful

Hornets are OK
bumblebees are just goofy bees
bees are also OK
but wasps really, really suck

@RoryAlsop cc @Yvette Technically, sure. Realistically... (1) you'll never have a perfect system, especially with such a small sample to test against, and (2) it honestly isn't worth the development effort. This is the first time I've seen something like this in a few months of moderating SO and years of running Smokey. It's rare enough to qualify as "meh"

@Undo Could you maybe introduce a reviewer stats page that you could access by metasmoke.erwaysoftware.com/reviewer=<reviewerID or name> that would give stats on accuracy and list invalid feedback by a reviewer?

All you need to do is add another route to the admin controller that gives us the stats page. Stop verifying admin on it, add a public route not under the admin namespace
Alternatively, I may be able to do it in about an hour

@Undo MS should be returning both the commit status and a list of feedbacks invalidated since the last ping, when Smokey does a status update.
The idea is to use that list to ping the user to tell them (with various links) that their feedback was invalidated.

oh, this means we broke CI too. Ought to fix that before it goes nuts on us
@ArtOfCode Which room?
We don't have data on whether it came from SOCVR or CHQ atm.

@Undo Preferably, the one they're privileged in. That's where it gets complicated.
We have chat user IDs in metasmoke, which we can send to Smokey in the list; could it look up which privilege list they appear in?

wait, we have chat IDs in metasmoke?
Thought I never wired that up.

there's a chat user ID field on the model, anyway
not sure if there's any data there

2:49 PM
yeah, pretty sure it's empty
wait, it's there

sweet

huh, that's nice.
So we could do a reverse-lookup thing, seems like that could get ugly fast w/ possible identical UIDs between chat servers.

Pushed to MS; that should return the data at least
@Undo yeah, it's not nice at all
