Can someone please deploy an unfreeze bot in The Terminal? SmokeDetector's messages were keeping the room alive but if the strike stretches on it will end up frozen
@Mast TBH, no. I've tried the power adaptor cables to get cable internet to another part of the house where invisible lead gnomes settled into the walls the WiFi signal didn't reach. That worked well. In that house, at least. I'm given to understand they aren't guaranteed to work.
One house can be a handful, a block of houses is a headache waiting to turn into a radio jamming disaster. With everything turning wireless, unbound (multi-spectrum) pollution of the airwaves is a growing problem.
Filters exist to mitigate the damage, but it's quite unclear which items are and aren't filtered (and how much of it actually works since the filters are poorly tested).
My 2 cents: Can SE guarantee that any incorrect code does not make it into a voting machine? If not, then this could be classified as misinformation that could jeopardize elections.
Hi folks. We have temporarily lowered the number of spam flags required to remove posts from the network from 6 to 4. Please factor this into operations as needed, and let me know if you need further information.
Huh. My mistake, it looks like TWP was reverted to 6 also. You'd be looking for something mid-2021 if it had been documented publicly, but I think it might have just been reverted as a follow-up from the original request.
That means TWP is also currently set to a threshold of 4.
Assuming too low is something we'll find out soon enough. Assuming too high will lead to posts getting removed without manual intervention, which is not our policy for things that are not part of an active spamwave.
So if you say 4 networkwide, we assume 4 networkwide and it turns out it's 6 for a single site, we'll find that out by spam not getting removed as fast as we'd want to.
But since we're lowering the threshold globally, I think it'd be wise to do a quick audit before enabling if you're worried about FP removals. It's fast and painless for us, so far as I'm aware.

It's possible we could run SD over it all, at least new posts. That would likely require, at least, a temporary exemption from our API quota, which I'm sure we could get.
That would probably require at least some dev work on the SD side, too.
