@tripleee Command rm -rf ~/ actually removes current home directory in Linux or MacOS X. I guess any answers containing such distructive command more likely to be spam than a decent answer.

@VictorVosMottor We don't watch pre-emptively, that would make the list excessively long.
Can you show at least one example of a spam post where such code was used?

11:24 AM
@Mast I'll ask someone on ru.SO with >10k to show me those deleted answers and translte it to you ;)

@VictorVosMottor Next time, if you see such a post, !!/report the post and we'll figure out if it's spam or not.
If it's not in MS, we haven't seen it, we don't trace it.

@Mast ok

Some domains used to be spam a few years ago, but we stopped watching them after they became legitimate sources.
Just because you've seen something somewhere used as spam, or could be used for spam, doesn't automatically make it a good target to keep an eye out on.

Anyway, I think we'll need a word from on-high before we're going to pre-emptively watch terms like that, even if they contain malicious code.
Way too high chance of false positives.

Do we have a Buddhist in the room? I've asked someone before what they mean with 'Note that this isn't given for stacks, exchange, trade...', but didn't get a sensible response.

@Mast meta.stackoverflow.com/questions/287238/… (linked from there) is much closer on point. There's a general consensus that it's not acceptable, and substantial support for the proposition that "The post in question deserves to be more than deleted. The user in question should be banned."
Also I definitely ran code off the Stack Exchange network this weekend without looking up what the commands did. It had a lot of upvotes, though.

@Mast I'm a little more on-the-fence there, but actively concealed malicious code (e.g., described as something non-malicious), yes, absolutely. Malicious code presented as the answer to a question that it in no way answers with the intent that the user would run it, also yes. Malicious code in a question...that's going to depend on the context. (e.g., "what does this do? [malicious code]" would be fine, as would related malicious code answering that question)

@RyanM In theory I agree we should be strict on that, but in practice I don't think Charcoal is the tool to fight it.
