I am rather confused with this one when I search "jane" the name does show up but only in code examples... I have seen one example where it was listed under "developers" with other recurring names but they are too common to suspect (like "Martin", "John", "Jack", "Amanda", "Carmen")

@JeffSchaller Looks like it catches the report you intended it to catch, so yep, that looks alright. For similar sites, though (like link shorteners, bit.ly comes to mind), we like to use a specific regex to catch the confirmed bit of the bit.ly links. If I spammed, for example, bit.ly/38HzJg93, the regex we prefer to catch such a post if it were repeated would be (?-i:38HzJg93)(?#bit.ly) - The same syntax is used for youtu.be domain watches.

the (?-i: part turns off case insensitivity (so we make sure the we're sensitive to the case of this string) and the (?# is a noncapture area, which we use to designate what site it's from.

@Spevacus I need to get up to speed on that regex syntax, but given the very short URL above, would (we) have done that to IpMJ?
(searching MS with that regex now)
happens to be just the 1 TP right now; I just wasn't sure, given that the "unique" part is only 4 characters

@JeffSchaller Yeah, we probably would do that in the future. If you wanted to unwatch and watch using that regex syntax you certainly could, but we'll certainly catch that if it's posted again either way.

@Spevacus While that does look like a spam seed, we normally don't declare it as such, until there's a bit more clear evidence that it is, in fact, a spam seed. It is, unfortunately, quite possible for a naive user to post such an off-topic question. Admittedly, it's probably more likely that it's a spam seed than not, but we really don't know, and won't now that it's deleted.

@Makyen what is a spam seed?

@Yatin SO/SE is a Q&A format, so some folks have figured they'll post junk "questions" that will be answered with spam, either by them or a sock account

@Yatin It's a question specifically asked so that a spam answer can be placed on the question. The spam answer may be posted by the same user or another user. If it's another user, the users are usually connected in some manner (which may only be visible to moderators).

Oh ok thank you :)

That particular question looks like a seed for SEO spam. But it's merely closable without the spam itself
