@Catija + @Machavity I know your ping is for the other rob, but this Rob can see that, it's a pixel also known as a bug (as in listening device, not software/hardware fault). It collects (at least) the user's IP address and could also obtain more information or damage the user's computer. SE should block such images, a 1x1 pixel couldn't possibly be of any use in a question, answer, or comment.

@Machavity I'm saying that SpamRam should do it. How they do it is behind the curtain, @Catija can bring it up in a meeting - I simply wanted to emphasize the importance of doing a simple detection on something so obviously unnecessary. Not all of you like to click on links because you are concerned about attacks. I have a secure OS that I keep updated, not everyone is so secured. Also there is the greater concern that SE allows
anyone to hit those links, us or others before we get to it.

[ SmokeDetector | MS ] Bad keyword in answer, link at end of answer (146): Convert a Windows Mobile 6.5 application to Android app with Xamarin by Kevintoth on stackoverflow.com

@Machavity While SD doesn't currently do so, it's certainly possible for such a check to be added to SD. There is a question as to it taking too much wall time, processing time, bandwidth, or some other limitation.
However, I'd personally prefer to see it implemented by SE, as that would prevent leaking any info from users to the owners of such links. While FIRE prevents loading or pre-fetching of images, anyone that actually views a page with such an image leaks a significant amount of information to the host. That is a privacy issue and the data could be used to target users outside of SE.

@Glorfindel using a popular host is not suspicious per se, but some hosting providers seem to like to put suspicious customers on a particular IP or name servers to isolate them from the rest of the network... Impossible to cast a "one size fits all" verdict without further investigation

@MartinSleziak Just FYI: plagiarism by itself isn't something that should be reported here, as it's not something we specifically are looking for. If it's plagiarism + spam link, then it's spam and should be reported to SD, but not just plagiarism.
@double-beep The feedback guidance for plagiarism is k or tpu.

4:01 PM
@MartinSleziak I can understand that. Reporting it isn't a big issue. There's just not much we can do about it, until it's actually spam. Plagiarism is something that should be custom mod flagged with an explanation and a link to the source. While multiple such flags does increase the post's priority in the moderator queue, having multiple people raising flags for it isn't specifically encouraged. If there happens to be more than one flag, that's fine, but coordinating them really isn't recommended.

The post is now in the VLQ review queue. IIRC it goes from there to mods unless it is settled by regular users in the review. (Is it after one hour? Or longer?)

@MartinSleziak the review can delete a post

@MartinSleziak I don't recall exactly how long it takes for the post to also show up in the moderator queues. However, as @double-beep mentioned, the VLQ queue can directly delete non-positive score answers which are not accepted. If its got a positive score or is accepted, then the deletion gets reviewed by a moderator.

!!/approve 3191

@double-beep The Feedback Guidance for plagiarism says that plagiarism by itself is k/tpu, but shouldn't be manually reported. Basically, it's something that we'd want to block at a system level, but we're not specifically looking for it.

@Machavity I remember the deleted ones. Looking at the list of SE posts where this domain is used, it looks like this user has used at least 3 different accounts to post answers about the domain/product and has no other contributions. There's also another user which has posted 3 answers, but that user has a couple of other contributions. As such, Ashutosh Kumar appears to be here just to promote and their posts could/should be mod-flagged.
