@SmokeDetector naa Short answer (years old, caught by edit to another answer) likely copied from other answers, with link to his own site. User for years only one answer, spam might be too strong but naa certainly isn't.

@Rob Recorded answer as an NAA in metasmoke.

@SmokeDetector fp-
@Undo - I have one failure which I custom Mod flagged to inquire why. The "not helpful" status was changed to "helpful" but it remains a failure on MS. I have commented on this at the link provided. For statistical purposes is it important to have MS agree, now that the decision has been reversed?

@Rob Really gotta get your terminology right. What's a "failure"?

Rob
Just a sec.
On this page tap on the heading for the Invalidated column to sort and bring the failure to the top.

that's "invalidated feedback"

Rob
12:45 AM
I was invalidated for metasmoke.erwaysoftware.com/post/153579 - initially on the site it was moderated as "not helpful" but after further inquiry they reversed their decision. Is that why it is red?

is current HR moderator
the NAA flag was marked helpful when I deleted the post manually
no idea if someone else declined it or not before that

pretty sure you can't retroactively change NAA flag outcomes, no matter how hard you try

you retracted your custom mod flag
aye, AFAICT your NAA flag was never declined

Rob
@ArtOfCode My comments here are: metasmoke.erwaysoftware.com/post/153579 - previously on the HR site my flag there was marked not helpful. I wrote a custom Mod flag inquiring. When I went back to check my CMF was still pending but the "not helpful" flag was reversed; so I retracted my CMF. - My question for here is why does MS say I was invalidated - my first failure?
OK, no record there, why invalidated here - if that's the easier question.

@Rob I can't see any record of your NAA flag being declined - it's only ever been pending or helpful

Rob
12:53 AM
And I can't see there, but I can see here. Is the invalidated incorrect?

Invalidation is fine. It really doesn't mean anything.

As far as we're concerned here, that's an FP, it's not spam
I deleted it because strict quality guidelines, not because spam

Rob
OK. I didn't want to make 10 minutes work out of it. Just wondering if I should improve or if there's an error.

@Rob Here's a question: Are you highly metrics-motivated?
I'm kinda guessing so based on this and the screenshots in your profile.
Nothing wrong with that - it's a pretty big strength in a bunch of ways - but you can allow yourself a few mistakes every once in a while. It's not a big deal.

Rob
@ArtOfCode It was NAA, because it was a link only answer; not to mention 4 links in one answer as opposed to one recommendation per answer rule. I did comment to mention to the answerer whom replied 'it can be deleted, no edits from Jim's (paraphrasing).

12:58 AM
aye, as in "doesn't meet HR's quality standards"
can be deleted for either of those reasons interchangeably, doesn't really matter which
but it wasn't spam

@Undo metasmoke is up. Current failure count: 0

Rob
@Undo - I'm on various metrics driven sites including stats.SE - just seems unfortunate to go from 0.0% errors to 0.39% and not know the reason. It will be much smaller a 1000 flags/feedbacks from now.

1:01 AM
here's a thing
what do you think my error rate is?

Rob
* above "Jim's" is autocorrect ruining "him"

bah, missed it
Just saw SQL doing something bad. I think it had a long-running query and was dropping connections to Passenger app threads

any idea which query?

Rob
@ArtOfCode I never said it was spam. Only naa.

htop was about half pegged, saw instances with pings from 2+ minutes ago

Rob
@ArtOfCode Your error rate, with 39 helpful flags on HR, could be zero. Here, without looking, it could be a few percent or less.
Work on the problem at hand, my question can wait.

I have 1.36% invalid feedback. And that's okay. I think you're allowed 0.39% :P

@Rob it's already gone, I wasn't quick enough to catch it

Rob
Meaning it's deleted or archived?

meaning I'm mostly an incompetent server owner

1:10 AM
as are quite a few of us, I think...
raises hand

Rob
@ArtOfCode Errors happen, both human and computer (maybe the other person, not your error), so you're over 98% to the good.

@Rob Sure. My point is, if I - with a whole bunch of experience and technical privilege that stops me getting too far into the weeds - have a higher invalid rate than you do, then you have nothing to worry about.

Rob
@Undo Meaning the Database is toast, and must be retrieved from backups. Lucky you didn't have me in charge - in the past 40+ years I've annoyed myself making fastidious backups for almost a year and lost less than 1 GB playing with fire, my fault. But I saved 39 years of anguish, and doing the right thing.

not that incompetent

Rob
It wasn't so much "worry" as much as it was "inquiry". But if you need to help undo fix something please attend to that. I'm an old time assembly language programmer (before C and compiled Basic) so I like to use correct assembly language, to avoid a power off reset.
Please attend to the problem at hand, this is turning into the $64 question (^3).
Making badly needed coffee ... Not far enough away to not hear a ping, or notification (delayed) if my phone powers down to sleep mode.

1:37 AM
@Rob according to this, your (invalidated) feedback was tp

Rob
@NobodyNada - Looking ...
@NobodyNada I think this is my NAA for that - but I can't click on it to see which SD report it references because Chat doesn't work on mobile that far back.

@Rob That's on this post -- but, strangely, the feedback doesn't appear in metasmoke (possibly because of the apparent glitches and instance switch around that time)
it appears your feedback was recieved, but it's gone now

Rob
@NobodyNada According to the Commands Reference - Aliases I can only get a "tp" via "v" or by actually typing it out, which the Chat history doesn't support. Not sure why iBug flagged it "tpu-" since @ArtOfCode (whom is a Moderator there) agrees with me that it's not spam. --- Maybe we've discovered a glitch. ?

@Rob it appears to have come from metasmoke (either directly on the website or via a userscript)

1:53 AM
You can also get tp feedback via review, or the feedback buttons on post records, or userscripts/the MS API

Rob
I vaguely recall that being flagged Naa by me and then a subsequent conversation to refer to Feedback Guidance, and mark it spam.

@Rob Chat transcripts seem to indicate otherwise for that post (unless the conversation happened somewhere else): report, CalvT's fp feedback, your tp feedback

Rob
See conversation with CalvT a couple of comments down. So I'll have to search for my feedback for that again, but I' don't see the feedback if that's not it, and Chat doesn't work that far back for me to check replies. As was discussed above with the Moderator, that answer is Naa because it's link only and four links; which is prohibited.

@thesecretmaster BTW: On GraphQL, is there a reason to have the UIDs in the format foo:12345 rather than foo/12345 (i.e. using a : separator rather than a / separator)? The v2 API uses a / separator and MS URLs also use /. Obviously, on my end it's just some text manipulation to switch it to :, but I was wondering if there was a reason, even if that's just that it's more convenient in GraphQL. From my POV, it'd be a bit more convenient to use the same separator for all three.
Also, I noted on post that uid is specified as the ID type. I would have expected that to be string.
From my POV, neither of these are a high priority. The : vs / is trivial text manipulation. It's unlikely that I'll use post, as I need to use posts and it's easier to just always use posts and request only one post, when only one is needed.

@Makyen You have SD runner role now?

@iBug In SD? The timeout reports are saying it's 10s. I've been tempted to change that, as it does timeout from time to time. OTOH, they are a decent indicator as to when MS is getting slow.

@Makyen typo, 10 secs

@iBug Yeah, for a couple days.
Not that my instance has done much. :-)

@Makyen just asking for confirmation, updated website
