@ByteCommander Registered question as true positive. If you want to blacklist the poster, use trueu or tpu.

@gparyani it shouldn't have been approved, no, but that doesn't take all responsibility off you, either - you do need to know the policies if you're going to use the commands

@ArtOfCode OK. Just as a curious question, is that because a lot of spammers change their domains quite frequently?

12:35 PM
I'd personally rather see this policy as a guideline rather than a fixed rule though, if there is no doubt about a keyword I don't see a problem with blacklisting it a bit earlier (though only 2tp is really a bit few)

@ByteCommander Agreed (cc @ArtOfCode )

@ByteCommander that policy is one of the more fixed rules we have, because we had endless arguments about what was ripe for blacklisting before. Not absolutely fixed and unbendable, but stick to it if it's reasonably possible.

@SFTP What? R/A flags age away?

6:29 PM
yes

Aging away R/A, or spam, flags feels wrong. I'm willing to hear arguments for it, but, IMO, such flags should not age away. They specifically exist to have a moderator look at the post (if not enough users also raise such flags), because the user raising the flag thinks there is something seriously wrong.

well this is also a serious edge case
2 out of the 3 mods haven't been on in a month

Q: Don't age away spam/rude/abusive flags

SFTPCurrently, spam flags and rude/abusive flags age away in 2 days if not acted upon. This doesn't really happen on active sites, but it does happen elsewhere. (For example, I have four aged-away spam flags on Chinese Language and three on 3D Printing. And had a bunch on Русский язык before leaving ...

@quartata I'm not seeing where you are getting your last activity dates for the moderators. From their profile pages, they were last seen: 2016-10-30, 2017-10-16, and 2018-03-19.
However, these numbers can't be correct, as there is activity after this. For example, the moderator "last seen" on 2016-10-30 posted a comment on 2016-12-13.

6:53 PM
@Makyen that's meta

and I have a mod flag from december still pending

@SmokeDetector Um. Yeah, you sure you're not proselytizing?

6:55 PM
Global flag summary userscript is useful for finding those. On sites other than SO, any flag under "expired" column is probably spam / r/a. Close flags rarely age outside of SO, and other types of flags do not expire.

@doppelgreener "Rejected ..." will work. If the first word of the comment is "Rejected", PA will mark the status check failed.

do you have any idea how many pages of posts my code would have to count

No, we don't have the count cached
/domains fetches it every time

...well
all right then
this is gonna take a while

What are you trying to do?
and one-time or recurring

7:28 PM
one-time

okay, what is it?

fetch all domains that have all TPs
although I might change it to allow a few FPs, so I was going to just fetch the counts and filter the rest locally

Okay, use the SQL exploder to find out which those are and then use the API to get details on the set of IDs you get from it?

oh hey, I have core again
ok

7:34 PM
@SmokeDetector k

ok, that actually worked although my browser freaked out because I forgot a LIMIT
(and to unique it)

You should be able to save the query without a limit and use the CSV download to get the result set if that's easier to process

or join(select)

I have it in an ALL and it's complaining

or select(select...)as
What's the query?

7:45 PM
i will reluctantly show it
SELECT p_spam_domains.id, p_spam_domains.domain, COUNT(p_spam_domains.id) FROM p_spam_domains LEFT JOIN p_posts_spam_domains ON p_spam_domains.id = p_posts_spam_domains.spam_domain_id WHERE ALL(SELECT p_posts.is_tp FROM p_posts WHERE p_posts.id = p_posts_spam_domains.post_id) GROUP BY p_spam_domains.id
even though I'm sure it's fundamentally wrong and I'm just too tired to see it

HAHAHA that's more uglier than . . .
I don't know SQL

hmm... does adding = TRUE help?

no it errors before that

@quartata that's... not gonna work

also I think I should move this into a HAVING probably

7:48 PM
wait
maybe

I can read it just fine, so why can't the SQL engine?

@quartata what do you want it to give you?

the query I had before was
SELECT p_spam_domains.id, p_spam_domains.domain, COUNT(p_spam_domains.id) FROM p_spam_domains LEFT JOIN p_posts_spam_domains ON p_spam_domains.id = p_posts_spam_domains.spam_domain_id LEFT JOIN p_posts ON p_posts_spam_domains.post_id = p_posts.id WHERE p_posts.is_tp GROUP BY p_spam_domains.id

I assume ALL::[Boolean]=>Boolean

the problem is that returns all of the rows where the domain was there and it was a TP
i want to get domains where every single associated post was a TP
which is a surprisingly hard query
I suppose equivalently is any domain where there are no FPs, I don't think that makes it any simpler
unless maybe you could use MIN(SELECT p_posts.is_tp FROM p_posts ...) = 1 or some such

7:52 PM
The traditional way would be to use GROUP and HAVING

HAVING just does it after the GROUP BY
now that might make it faster if i do it right but i don't think it changes it conceptually

ah
that'd do it
that's a pretty good chunk right there

COUNT(DISTINCT IF()) is a neat little tool to remember
count things only if an attribute matches some condition, without a subquery

I feel SQL expertise is very similar to expertise in magical incantations
