If Smokey scans every post on realtime, how would it miss things? I don't think Smokey would catch a post now if it didn't previously, unless the restrictions were made harsher...

now that I've started doing stuff in charcoal again, I'm going to have accounts on 100 sites again. yay

when I got my account deleted and they remapped my actions to this account, they asked me which sites I wanted to keep associated because I had over 60 :P

What do you mean by "scanned ID"?

You mean storing the information of whether a post is scanned?

25 MB/mo sounds too much, I was estimating only 2~3 MB/mo

We can store the site ID as a tinyint (or whatever 8 or 16 bit integer) and the post ID as a 32-bit integer, and the scan time as any 64-bit data type, so we're storing up to 16 bytes each scan.

Given the daily scan number, it's 200KB/d, so (uh-oh) 6MB/mo

I know I'm too naive :)

...I guess it helps if you store numbers as numbers not strings

though once you do that our problem becomes not space but sheer number of DB rows

we'd have 3 million rows at the end of one month

storing as strings you lose out on space but you can do it in a sane number of rows

DB rows, yeah surely a problem then

don't expect a university student of age 18 to know that much about real productivity stuff
