@Glorfindel We could make some fairly safe assumptions - for example, if a message chain looks like this:
Smokey: [ SmokeDetector ] whatever: whatever
Smokey: [ SmokeDetector ] foo bar baz: foo
Smokey: tpu- by Bob on whatever

And then me: sd k
It's pretty safe to assume that I'm looking at the foo report.

What tools do you guys use to generate graphs?
I'd like to make a graph for FireAlarm; I have some stats in a CSV already

For metasmoke, chartkick.com

@Glorfindel That's the most badass thing I've read in a while

We should continue to update that post as we keep going, with more up-to-date stats/graphs.

@ArtOfCode Did you figure out what the heck was going on with the API

@quartata nope, @Undo needs to look at that

Got a quick summary of the issue? I've been kinda in and out, crunch time before interview tomorrow

Pops's comment prolly summarizes everything

7:19 PM
@Undo Some posts can't be retrieved via the MS API
You just get an empty response

"Some posts"...do you have an example?

@Undo API has nothing for post 59120 (I think), and at least the two IDs before that get sent twice when you request them.
/api/posts/59120 returns no items; /api/posts/59118;59119 returns both posts twice

59231 is empty too

well that's interesting
yeah, can look at that. Thanks.
statistically, it's probably my fault

:35767865 'items': [{u'autoflagged': {u'flagged': False, u'names': [], u'users': []},
u'body': u"<p>we are Auckland based and also trying to extract our email from a Bullhorn backup. And hitting barriers. If you're getting some traction resolving this, do let me know and perhaps you can help us nail this too. Many thanks, bruce@dustyroad.co.nz</p>\n",

            u'feedbacks': [{u'feedback_type': u'naa-',
I can't replicate that. What filter are you using?
Hm. it did return it twice though. But that is definately 59120
@quartata I get data for that one too
What filter do you use?

phone number what?

How is it a phone number?

@quartata This shows data, though it does return the same post twice

@Andy Art reproduced it without any filter. The filter I was using at the time was just the body
Also why did you just give your API key out? :P

Why not?

7:29 PM
@SmokeDetector why

@quartata Title - Phone number: 1950519605

@Andy eh

You can't do anything evil with my key.
@quartata No filter has data (but is duplicated)

bottom line is that weird stuff is going on

Just body also has data...still duplicated
Some of those fields really shouldn't be there if I haven't included them in the filter

7:32 PM
If you're on Chrome, chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/jsonview/… is a must for this kind of thing.
@Andy Those other ones are generated, I don't know how to tie them into the API filter system.

@Undo Neither do I :) I suspect it would be... hackish.

it's already hackish :P

Of all the things I can complain about, I'm going to put this one right after "someone gave me an oatmeal raisin cookie"

well that's interesting
That query actually returns two rows

Yay! SQL funny business

@Undo uuuuumm. Either we have two entries on one primary key, or SQL has gained sentience and is messing with us. Neither sounds like a fun afternoon of debugging.

this is what branches are for

web interface isn't too awesome with branches

it's usable at least for 'changes' but you have to use branches to begin with
which @Glorfindel hasn't.

You have to actually clone the repo to do that IIRC, and some folks aren't set up for that. It's fine.

which he did :P
(look at the PR lol)
in any case

@JF Probably. It's no longer a featured question.

@Undo whenever !!/report is called sometimes the chat socket dies off and doesn't recover

9:57 PM
Right, but why?
What are we doing differently there than anywhere else?

That's the thing, there's no error or traceback to capture.
from my testing in a stripped down version of our codebase for pure chat functions, in another channel, even if I delete the chat socket it restarts.
Then I lost the codebase because I stored it in /tmp/ lol
The core issue is something in CE
and as you and I both know that's its own ball of magic

There has to be something different we're doing there, if no other function causes this

One of the reason i tried to ping ProgramFOX
@Undo Your guess is as good as mine.

Is it that we're trying to send messages in two rooms at the same time?

@Undo if we call !!/report here does it report to two rooms?
in all cases?

@ArtOfCode Any luck?

Depends on the site
@quartata I'm looking at it, eventually

@Undo I don't see how that would make !!/report different from automatic reports
