see my notes from this morning, the report form is really not very useful

ah ok

as long as the /site/whatever matches a blacklisted keyword we should be fine, but we need to keep the lists up to date

A J
12:24 PM
That sounds good, but would they really listen to us? I mean this is their site and since anyone is allowed to make a site there, why would they?

there are good administrative reasons (local optimization) to block abuse, they produce more work than they bring in money and/or goodwill
@SmokeDetector still up fwiw

Yes. This is actually the second time that it fails.

Dave AlperovichI really enjoyed that site. I've only posted on it once, but I enjoyed seeing other people's posts and appreciated reading about entrepreneurial dilemmas.

@Videonauth that's the question. How many legitimate posts with sites.google.com do we get per day?
if it's less than one (and perhaps even significantly less than one) we might want the watch there at least until this problem abates

would be a good question for doing a SE database query maybe?

A J

But too many results here.

stackexchange.com/… gives me "about 39.000"

a day?

overall
google search returns 117k results google.de/…

sorting by date gets me about 2 per day recently but I didn't scroll very far
adding /site/ reduces to 27,600 and about one per week recently
well, make that a few per week
if we had to maintain this for any longer time we could probably build a pretty good exclusion list with lookaheads, but my thinking is simply to receive alerts until this problem goes away or it needs proper escalation -- a week or two perhaps

right, but that's over a number of years, it could still make sense if the daily volume is low (let's say less than 10 weekly?)

yes simply add it to the watch list and we will see how it goes, i guess removing it from the watch list should be easy too?

@NobodyNada I already fixed it, but hadn't redone the unit tests. Our changes are fairly similar
the only problem is now reverting the revert is a total nightnare, even an interactive rebase is being a total bastard and constantly conflicting on the blacklist

Is it possible to start from master, revert the revert, and cherrypick our commits or something like that?

in fact I'd rather push from the detached head and then keep my local master where it is
