@ArtOfCode Hyyyypothetically, we could have 'reasons' with negative weight

4:20 PM
@Undo aye, but at the moment the sched task will overwrite it again - we'd have to add a manual override thing. Possible, but not currently.

@ArtOfCode Don't even need to do that.
weight = (200 * tp/total) - 100
Reasons with high false positives rates would get negative weights

w = (n * tp/total) - m, where you can tune n and m to create a threshold past which weight goes negative

Right

200/100 is probably okay

Prettified the flag log page a little, it was irritating me

I'd better pull before I push the next one then :P

Prolly :P
I was considering adding tp/fp lines to that flag log graph, but... that'd just be a red smear at the bottom.

@Undo I was thinking of success/failed lines, but didn't for the same reason
It's odd how consistent the numbers per day are
49, 51, 52

yeah, we should only ever fail when either (1) the code's broke, or (2) someone runs out of flag quota
Really tempting to turn it lose with real flags.

@Undo Isn't it, though? We'll need a Stack Apps post before we can write, though.
that causes API errors too

4:40 PM
@ArtOfCode already have it

we do?

yeah. If you turned off the dry run thing it'd flag stuff
I know because I was testing stuff in the prod console and left out the dry_run param.

gah, I'm so used to "1 helpful flag" being a link

yeah, SO instincts kick in on that kind of stuff

back up and working now :)
and, lunchtime!

5:19 PM
@Undo that takes some reading

@ArtOfCode yeah, kinda hastily thrown together

@Undo so is this telling me that we have at least one reason that can cause an autoflag on its own?
no, it can't be
shrug

@ArtOfCode Oh, no. When filtering by reason weight on the X axis, (user rep == 1) it shows total number of posts caught on the green line, and tp percentage among those on the yellow line

...right

So at weight=200, we catch about 12k posts with an accuracy between 99.75% and 100%

5:22 PM
oh, cumulative weight

Aye

yep, got it
@Undo fancy pulling together a bunch of data and flag logs, and going to talk to some CMs about letting this loose with real flags?

@ArtOfCode yeah, but maybe not over Christmas week

hm, true. That's sorta out of the way and done with for me by now :)

@ArtOfCode I must say, that is a very nice dashboard you made there

I figured having the links all over the place didn't help, and it gave us a place to centralise state information, and it gave me something to do :)

11:19 PM
Yeah, it's pretty nice

they clearly did a good job of teaching us CSS in the first term
though also to be fair I knew most of it
@Undo is there anything more we need to add?

CHQ pings when we flag a fp
@ArtOfCode Oh, I meant to say something about that... ;)
Sass is a little more flexible than normal CSS
IIRC, this works:
.module-red {
  border-top: 4px solid red;
}

.module-red .status-text {
  color: red;
}
becomes

@Undo Call me old-fashioned, but I like my raw CSS and lack of dependencies.

.module-red {
  border-top: 4px solid red;
  .status-text {
    color: red;
  }
}
@ArtOfCode Compiling it is a step in the deploy process anyway, so it's kinda free for us

Rob
sass is one of the best things to ever happen to css

11:25 PM
@Undo Fair. There's also the fact that I don't actually know sass... I wonder if there's a CSS > Sass translator widget

Rob
You wouldn't translate css > sass
Anything valid in css is valid in sass

@ArtOfCode cat

@ArtOfCode yeah, since version 3 sass is a superset of css

It's not good sass, but it's sass nevertheless

It's like Ruby - you just kinda try stuff that looks plausible and it works 50% of the time

11:28 PM
How does inheritance work with it? If I define a variable in application.scss, is it available in controller styles?

You can include scss files
@import

Yeah, I know, but we don't - application doesn't include anything, and the substyles don't include application. The only imports/includes/requires are Rails(?) requires that tell Rails which files to include in the prod stylesheet

If SCSS files don't reference each other, they get compiled separately

@ArtOfCode Any reason you're doing 6 col-md-2's instead of 4 col-md-3's?

@ArtOfCode Do the MS pages for each report have an indicator on whether they have been auto flagged? I think we still need to do that

11:37 PM

@Undo is that with md-3?

@ArtOfCode yeah

@Undo cool

@Undo you sure? It looks the same width as what I'm seeing with md-2. But yeah, in theory we could do that - I only went with 2 because I didn't know how many I was going to have

Odd, that's what I see with md-2 ^

11:41 PM
how big's your monitor?

This is on my 13"
so something like 1200 across
1280

That's it, then. I'm on 1920.
So yeah, md-3 would be better given that 13" isn't uncommon
wait
why are you seeing 30 posts flagged? I'm reading 54

local

ah
@Undo if you're changing that, you could also remove the margin from .module - the .col classes have some already
