I was going to have the first main protagonist of my manuscript be a trans man, but I didn't want to identify with him too strongly so I was like "fine, i guess he can be cis just this once" lol

Identifying too strongly makes me feel bad when i have to kick him around as part of the narrative

this is part of the reason I don't name my characters

let them be shadows of ideas, then they can suffer while I watch

i couldn't find a reasonable way to incorporate airships into my setting, but hey, dragons

dragons are always better than no dragons

there is the one specific case where dragons that are currently attempting to kill you are not better than no dragons

but at least if you die you can have been eaten by a dragon, which is way cooler than just dying the normal way like a chump
