This user
(https://superuser.com/users/1020714/%ec%9d%b4%ea%b8%b0%eb%a6%84) keeps doing bad questions (being this one also bad) and his older questions just keep asking to install outdated software on Win7. Not sure if there is a guideline to follow for this type of situation

@CaldeiraG If the questions are bad (as determined by the community by downvotes, closed), that can trigger a question ban

@bertieb Half of his questions got downvoted and the other half are questions that are "impossible" to answer. Only 1 got closed as a dupe so probably it's not enough to trigger an auto-ban

@CaldeiraG I'm not sure of the thresholds for the Qban, but seems like the community is responding appropriately
Bringing it up in here will also help shine the light of peer feedback on the user

@bertieb I'm sure they are as I'm also aware of the situation
@bertieb the user is also free to join the chat if they have some questions about writing a question. But from what I gathered he is trying to have a Windows XP like experience on Win7 which is not possible for the most part.

@CaldeiraG They don't have suffcient rep to chat
IIRC

@bertieb Oh right lol, totally forgot that

Easy to forget :)
A mod could invite them to chat, and I think they could chat if comments get auto-converted/moved to chat
But from the quick glace I had just now, and from seeing the review queues I don't think feedback from comments is sinking in

@bertieb his main goal is not achievable, i'm sure if it was a valid question it would get feedback to improve it

@CaldeiraG To be fair, generally speaking asking something which has no solution is potentially a valid question
As you can answer "This is not possible because X, Y Z. (sources)"
Subject to the usual other question standards, of course
Not stating research, why/goals of what Q is trying to achieve, and other requirements (eg particular language requirements) in Q makes answering tricky

@bertieb Not saying otherwise :)
Don't know if you saw my comment (superuser.com/questions/1453062/…) but although a unanswerable question can be valid, this question is kinda of a follow-up question of IE7 question he did
and we all agreed IE7 is not natively possible to install in Win7

Based my my hazy meta discussion recollections, unsupported stuff is a grey area
I can't remember if it's automatically off-topic
But in any case there are other issues with that question

That's why I said it's a bad question from the start because it's very vague atm

Yup
