@slhck destroyed.

@studiohack Yay, cheers :)

Is this too localized, off topic or not a question? superuser.com/q/432375/55796
it's the kind of question that can be answered with "yes"

@devius I'd say this is too localized to the exact model and the situation of the OP. Those kinds of question should all be closed, pointing to a general canonical question on how to check whether RAM is suitable for a machine

That's what I thought but I haven't found a good question and answer regarding that issue. I will look further though.

Q: How can I tell what RAM will fit my computer?

Nathan LongIf I want to add more RAM to my computer, how can I buy something compatible? What kinds are there? How do I determine which kind my computer will accept and how much I can add?

I don't like the answer because it's windows specific
but it's the closest thing yet that's for sure

@devius The second answer is quite useful too
I've been using Crucial for finding RAM for my Mac. Doesn't work on Linux though.

someone is mass-downvoting me for a non-specified reason, could a moderator see what is happening?

7:03 PM
@Diogo +1

@Luke you had the same problem?

@Diogo Yup... Just happened

lol.... something is happening then....
maybe we should open a request on meta...

I don't know if that would be meta-covered, but link if you do

sure, I will just wait some time if some moderator see it here, then I will post it on meta...

8:17 PM
@Diogo Upvoted and Fav'd

@Luke sure, hope some mod could find what happend...

8:46 PM
@Diogo @Luke I'm looking into it; may have found something. Are either of you aware of any users you might have ticked off recently? Were there any posts that all of the users who got downvoted were involved in a discussion over?

@nhinkle discussion about this also going on over in RA
what did you find? SUW?

@studiohack ah, didn't see that. I'll go check up on the other rooms and contact you in the mod room.

@nhinkle I'm sure we pissed off lots of people with comments explaining when something is to be on a certain site, or asking for more information... It did just happen after I got the last vote to close a question though. Two secs, I'll see if I can find it

Q: My laptop was stolen. What do I need to do?

chris Possible Duplicate: Tips for locating my stolen computer My laptop was recently stolen. It was a corporate system running XP, which means it was part of a domain - I'm assuming that makes it impossible for someone to log into it, although I know there are ways to reset the local admin...

@Luke I wasn't even involved in that, so … I guess not

8:51 PM
@Luke I don't think it's that, but thanks for the tip.

Ah, that makes sense.

I think so
Any way to track it down? Or just live with the lost rep?

As I said, it's getting taken care of. We've got your backs :)
Try not to antagonize him too much.

@nhinkle Thanks :) Hopefully this is a one time occurrence... Any tips for avoiding it in the future?

It's the internet. Shit happens. Just let us know when there's a problem and we'll resolve it. Sometimes people go crazy... only way to avoid it is to not go online at all. :)

@Luke nothing really, you just just voted to close... like @nhinkle says, this kind of stuff happens. that's what we mods are here for :)

9:16 PM
But then you'd have no reason to be here! Lol
Thanks guys :)

@Luke wow, we all are there....
closed question revenge

Situation has been resolved and votes have been invalidated. If your reputation hasn't been restored within the next 24 hours, ping one of us in chat and we'll get it checked out, but you should all be back to normal. The user in question has been dealt with appropriately.

@nhinkle thank you, problem solved for me.

10:55 PM
@nhinkle Thank you. No change yet but will assume it will take effect :)
