12:07 AM
@Integrand I get it! I was almost going to ask you what G&T is! :-)
@Integrand I occasionally enjoy a G&S.

@amWhy call me crazy but I enjoy the bitterness of tonic

@Integrand It's not crazy! Enjoy away.

are you imbibing this evening?

@Integrand I enjoyed a glass of wine tonight.

@amWhy a family friend makes delectable blueberry wine

12:13 AM
@amWhy Teaching until 9pm. Then crashing. No drinking tonight.
Well, aside from a can of hipster water.

@XanderHenderson Ooh, that makes for a late night! How early to you need to rise tomorrow?

@XanderHenderson ever had Liquid Death?

@Integrand What is that? Sounds almost lethal!

@amWhy No particular hour---my first Friday commitment is office hours at 10, then a faculty association meeting at 11.
Then afternoon office hours.
But I do have a couple of finals to write.
Which is going to take FOREVER, because I have to teach the LMS how to ask (and grade) the questions.

@amWhy liquiddeath.com/pages/about-us. basically hipster water.
@XanderHenderson f

12:17 AM
@Integrand My hipster water is canned by either Pepsi or Coke, and has bubbles and artificial flavors.
(the label says "natural flavors", what what does that even mean?)

@XanderHenderson that phrase is a lawyer's dream

@Integrand The page you linked to had me laughing out loud!

bye 4 now

Ugh... I don't want to lecture tonight...
I'm so tired.
I am seriously tempted to just email the 8 students who generally show up and say "I've already given this lecture twice this week. Here's the YouTube link," and call it a night. But this class is a three hour block, which gives me the opportunity to unite the ideas from the other two lectures (since they really flow together).
Sigh... :(

@Integrand See you!
@XanderHenderson Perhaps do both, i.e. Spend 2 uniting the ideas from the other two lectures, and encouraging the students to review the two previous lectures.

3 hours later…
3:28 AM
@amWhy The lectures are on conic sections---really, I want a month to discuss these ideas, but I am given two 75 minute lectures. :\
If I had my druthers, I would leave out conic sections entirely, but our articulation agreement with the other schools in the state requires that I cover them.

7 hours later…
10:07 AM
g'nite @amWhy :)

@JyrkiLahtonen Did you catch when they won the World Series? They won it in 2016, after decades upon decades of not making it. It was quite the event in Chicago!!!!

1 hour later…
10:45 PM
@amWhy Yes, but I think that I am just going to skip them.
No one ever shows up. :\
@amWhy It makes me sad to be living in a universe in which the Cubs have won the World Series in the last century.
It just isn't right.

11:23 PM
@XanderHenderson You don't like supporting underdogs who rise to the occasion? Or it's disconcerting to have a team you always know will lose, suddenly win?

@amWhy None of the above. I just really hate the Cubs.
GO SOCKS!
:P

@XanderHenderson Hah! ;D I've never lived anywhere where there were two baseball teams or two football teams in one city, or even in one state! With your experience in CA, I imagine within state rivalries existed.

@amWhy Probably, but I hate both of the LA ball teams, too.

@XanderHenderson Are you following the Raiders, now in Las Vegas??

I've rooted for the A's for as long as I can remember, and started cheering for the D'Backs when their AAA farm team moved to Reno while I was living there.
@amWhy I don't follow concussion ball at all.

11:39 PM
@XanderHenderson Hah! I like that description of only in America football!
