@Criggie seems a but lathey but yes
So! Question. I need a drill to drill through concrete for hanging things.
I'm weaksauce and so want something that's handy, the holes are not too big and our current store brand cheapy in addition to being OSHA unapproved vibrates a lot.
I've noticed that the local tradies use this shopee.sg/… or something similar
but I'm wondering if its a bit much for 'occational' use
(I've a smaller one that'll do wood fine, this is entirely for concrete)

@JourneymanGeek your shopee link says "product doesn't exist" then demands a login.
There are two types of hammer drill from my understanding.
This sort with a motor clearly visible in the bottom
These often but not always have the SDS method of fastening a drill bit into the chuck, which transmits impacts better than a Jacob's style chuck
And these ones which are cheaper, but are just beefy drill drivers with a second gearbox inside to make impacts.
the second sort is cheaper, and uses standard round twist drills with carbide tips
the SDS ones have a weird-ass interface that needs specific bits.
If we're talking dozens of holes a week, get a SDS drill.
If its going to be only occasionally, get the cheaper sort.
If it is once or twice a decade AND small diameter, get a concrete bit and a regular drill driver, and simply tap the back of the drill lightly with a hammer. Nasty hacky solution but cheap and works.
One might think an impact drill driver might work, but it won't any more than a normal drill. The impacts on an impact driver are rotational, whereas a hammer drill is in/out.
I have an old 1970's hammer drill from my late grandad. For the once-a-year usage, its nice to have.
Yes, it is brown.

@Criggie our current drill is cheap, falling apart and ... shoot at least over 11 years old. :D
