Mad God is a stop motion-live-action hybrid horror film written, produced, and directed by Phil Tippett. Completed in 2021, the film was produced over a period of thirty years. It was released on Shudder on June 16, 2022. == Plot == The film opens with a tall figure shrouded in a jacket and gas mask known only as The Assassin descending into a ruined, hellish world via a diving bell. In his possession the Assassin has a map of the world and a suitcase with a bomb which he has been tasked with detonating behind enemy lines within the desolate world; however, the map slowly deteriorates along the...
I didn't realize it was him until the credits rolled. I did stop animation when I was a kid. Dinosaur! is my fav documentary of all time.
See also, The Wizard of Speed and Time, by Mike Jittlov. The guy who did the Mickey Mouse satellite.

@Mazura heh :)
Absolutely. You know, [during] the very last year or so of “Mad God,” or even before that, the last couple of years, I ended up hating it. It was just a slog, just go in every day, and then get it done. And at the end, maybe about a year before it was complete, I had a huge mental breakdown and had to go into a psych ward for a while, and recovery, and that took me about three months to get over — but it busted my brain.
:(
I guess a 30 year production cycle will do that to you :x

That baby crying tho... had to turn the sound off for almost the entire last half of the movie.

"I wonder if there is happy stop motion movie in the future. The only one I can think of that really pulls off a sense of benign and giddy joy is “The Wizard of Speed and Time,” Mike Jittlov." - way ahead of me eh?
They actually met and used to live by each other. Crazy. Two absolutely crazy f's lol. "Mike was an odd fellow. He was someplace way up in the spectrum." kettle : black?
Maybe next time, Phil, don't force yourself to remember 30y worth of dreams: "I dreamt prolifically, and I had a big book that I recorded my dreams in, and that was kind of my compass."
@MiG Took me until page 5 or 6 of tags to find one I've never done: irrigation; never done a sprinkler system. Unless fire suppression counts ;)

I only made the FD show up that one time... gezzz (busted a sprinkler head, pump came on, which triggered a call to the FD) Also, comes out black and smells like cat piss. Good times.
Got to play with an old head. Held a lighter to the break-away element. It popped in about three seconds, just like in Aliens. However (at least on a system old enough) unlike all the other movies, they don't all go off at the same time, unless it's 160f (or w/e the element is rated for).

@Mazura yeah, the only systems where all the heads go off at once are deluge systems, and those are only found in places that are far more WHOOSH than any house or office if they catch alight
