A whack situation occurs to me. 1) PC killed. Body left behind. 2) PC gets true resurrection. 3) PC killed again. 4) Someone tries to resurrect PC from the body in step 1.

@Joshua that's awkward

What's that service people use to make homebrew stuff that looks like it follows the 5e style guide?

Q: How to prevent a player from abandoning one PC in favor of a different one

DopplegamerHere's some background to the situation, which I believe may relate to the problem. It should help some people answer the question. I play a small game of DnD with some friends named Lorry, Kevin, and Charlie (all pseudonyms, Charlie is the DM). We have only been playing together for a few sessio...

@Joshua The video game Returnal (which, CW is about grief) plays with this from what I've heard

Any idea on how to make this mathematics question clearer?

Q: Perimeter of a rounded 'house' (rectangle+regular trapezoid)shape?

AncientSwordRageImagine a trapezoid stacked on a rectangle, with all six of the corners rounded off. I'm trying to find it's perimeter. Here is an unrounded trapezoid (note, this is obviously not my diagram, so the letters do not match the rectangle below) Here is a rectangle with the corners rounded off. The ...

@AncientSwordRage I assume you want the c lines to be tangential to the rounding corners in the intersect? (that that is what you mean by smooth)
Also, is c the straight line, or the line to the unrounded corner?
And sanity check with WA, you didn't feed it mixed degrees and radians did you? The question seem to be a touch loose with them
I also think your latter two links are wrong, they're currently going to two of your images

3:17 PM
@Someone_Evil I may have done that?
@Someone_Evil yes that's the wording I should have used
@Someone_Evil to the unrounded corner? I'm not actually sure. I wasn't able to make a perfect diagram unfortunately
@Someone_Evil oh no

I realized later that you actually want things defined by d. The same question goes that, but actually I don't think correcting for it should be that difficult anyway

@Someone_Evil oh where did I not write D?

4:23 PM
@AncientSwordRage The answer gets trivial if you use CAD to make the design... see my simple answer.

4:36 PM
@Trish You need to derive c (which is just a spot of trig), and note that your h is different to the one in the question

@Someone_Evil my h is at best their h+r

Q: Can a monk knock down an enemy with a bonus action (without Open Hand Technique)?

Odin DodinCan a monk knock down an enemy with a bonus action (without Open Hand Technique) instead of the 2nd unarmed strike? Or it needs a special archetype, or a warrior class?

@Trish Not going by the diagram in the question. There's a retained slat at the top of rounded rectangle that the trapezoid sits on

@Someone_Evil added and fixed

5:05 PM
There's still technically a difference, but whether that matters is gonna be up to usecase (if it does matter the slat above should be rcos\alpha)

Q: What is Energy in 5e?

Groody the HobgoblinIn general, when the game uses terms that are not defined explicitly, it defaults to the plain English usage of the word. There are several spells and effects, like Resilient Sphere, that care about energy. This would give us a definition such as: a dynamic quality; the capacity of acting or be...

6:18 PM
@Someone_Evil I don't follow what you mean by retained slat, I want aware my diagram was unclear. Trish got it right

6:55 PM
@AncientSwordRage If you're happy with those definitions over what your diagram showed, then I guess it's all good

@Someone_Evil I am...
I wouldn't mind understanding where my diagram went wrong

Q: Vampire Bite 5e (Dhampir Race) - Empowerment

heyyyk8I am playing a Grave Cleric Dhampir for an upcoming campaign and reading the text for Vampire Bite. It reads: Your fanged bite is a natural weapon, which counts as a simple melee weapon with which you are proficient. You add your Constitution modifier, instead of your Strength modifier, to the A...

Wheeeeeeee .... I drew my D&D character. I got some positive feedback as well. I'm still riding the excited-nervous-relief high

@BESW I'm late, but this made me think of an article I like (from Mythcreants, about rhetorically poor ways to defend an RPG)
