Q: Is the Mordenkainen's Sword spell underpowered?

The Mordenkainen's Sword spell seems to be under-powered for a 7th-level spell. It only does 3d10 damage; while admittedly it can do this damage every round for 1 minute, it still just seems to not be that much damage for a spell of its level. @ThomasMarkov how would you do it?

@Akixkisu Vicky has written some very thought provoking questions that got my brain working but a lot of them got the response of 'this is a discussion prompt' which had to be frustrating. With some work shopping some remained open; as I was not in the belly of the beast I am not the right one to tell you 'how' since I wan't on the creative side in those cases.

@Someone_Evil that spell is great fun. I've been using and abusing it with my celestial tome lock. Fun and shenanigans, messages on the sky that last for an hour, saying "who will stand up to the Duke's corruption and infidelity?" (it was a bald faced lie on my part, but it got a response, and we took advantage of the response). One of many uses.

@KorvinStarmast Yeah, I think it has great uses, but (so far) it hasn't passed muster for being taken normally. I think everyone is excited to see what he'll be able to do with it

Also useful to summon reinforcements if there's a battle going on and your army/force is split ... we had that happen once as we tried to help defend from a combined orc/human incursion. you might say "I called the Cavalry" and it worked well enough. (Our Ranger/Rogue and I(lock), and our Barbarian, were the recon team sent to find out if we were being flanked ... we were!)

Q: Is Green-Flame Blade Cantrip bouncing a must?

When I use this Cantrip to attack a creature, then it can bounce the flame to a creature within 5 feet of my target. If there is no enemy, but a friendly character, must my friendly character take it, or can I simply ignore the bouncing in this situation?

@KorvinStarmast Do you mean the theoreticaly system design questions (like the ranged accuracy scaling), the perhaps overly hopeful one about using 'DKP' for voting, or some of the roleplaying ones? (These are the 'conceptual' ones that come to mind at the moment.)

I'm not sure what advice I could give.
