I really like the different games people are coming up with that use the format of Everyone Is John, but without the frankly bizarre misrepresentation of mental illness for comedy.
Last month Friends Who Roll Dice did a charity stream that included Everyone Is ScarJo.
(Asian gamers satirizing the pattern of Scarlett Johansson being offered, and accepting, starring roles for Asian characters.)

Yeah, the subject matter bugs me a lot. I had proposed roll for shoes but I got outvoted

I've got several games where the structure is great but I need to find a way to re-frame the narrative before I can play it again. Great Ork Gods is another one.

@BESW yeah she needs to,... stop doing that

Correction: they started talking about We Are All ScarJo last month, but the game stream is tomorrow.

Q: Understanding the mechanics of a satyr's Mirthful Leaps trait

Victor B(I apologize if this question has been asked in this form or another already.) I am having an issue calculating how to utilize a Satyr's Mirthful Leaps trait, and how it would affect the character moving forward, focusing on the math and stats. For this question, I'll use the satyr monster stat b...

Urrrgh I really wanna play this game.

@BESW good cover-up fellow time traveller

shhhhh

I finished listening to Forest 404 today and I can't recommend it highly enough
@BESW oh yeah... I'll have my license revoked again
And then I won't ever will have been before....
@BESW it sounds great

We’re talking time travel? I hate time travel bc of all the paradoxes it produces

@BardicWizard and yet by hating time travel, you never get involved, avoiding all paradoxes

And yet I love it anyways

Primer is a favourite of mine
And BTTF

Which is a paradox in and of itself

and ghost busters
Which doesn't involve time travel, but is still worth mentioning

4:10 AM
Then again I’ve watched pretty much all the non-discovery episodes of Star Trek related to time travel and yesterday’s enterprise and endgame both kinda bugged me so maybe it’s just the Star Trek time travel that bugs me

I'm particularly fond of time travel that doesn't try to both (a) explain itself and (b) make sense.
(Doctor Who providing excellent examples (both pro and con) of how and why a steadfast refusal to explain ANYTHING about time travel is perhaps the best approach to the subject.)

We should play it some time!

what kind of game is it?

@BESW yeah I think my least favorite parts of Doctor Who invariably involve them explaining or saying something they shouldn't have
On top of that it's extra maddening when theh go for an emotional beat off of one of those moments and undercut it practically deliberately later

Q: Can the Battle Master fighter's Precision Attack maneuver be used on a melee spell attack?

FogcutterI've searched here and in various reference books but can't find the answer to this specific question. The description of the Battle Master fighter's Precision Attack maneuver (PHB, p. 74) states that it can be used for any weapon attack. Thorn Whip, for example, uses magic to create a weapon... ...

@BardicWizard there's a limit?
@kviiri I tweeted that straight at Jay Hulme

@AncientSwordRage I dunno who they are but yay

@AncientSwordRage my parents set a half-hour limit on my phone for tvtropes cause otherwise I’m distracted all day and reading it in class

Ok, quick math quiz. 2% of 7.8 is .015 (roughly), yeah?

11:48 PM
I think you've got a decimal off.
2% of 7.8 = 0.02 x 7.8 = 0.156

ugh math
