I have a series of questions which I'm not going to post on the site...need some help.
I'm reading Le Tour Du Monde En Quatre-vingt Jours and it's rather difficult
and nearly every other sentence uses some construct I'm quite confused by
Here's one:
"À qui s'étonnerait de ce qu'un gentleman aussi mystérieux comptat parmi les membres de cette honorable association, on répondra qu'il passa sur la recommandation de MM. Baring frères, ches lesquels il avait un crédit ouvert."
The beginning of that sentence is just confusing as hell
À qui s'étonnerait de ce qu'un ...
(I could make questions out of these but there's just going to be too many.)

I guess it's "To one who is surprised that such a mysterious gentleman is counted among the members of this honorable association, we respond that he passed on the recommendation of....etc"
The "À qui" is nonetheless a very odd construction.
