Ironic: Yesterday I posted how we use clicker training for when the cat is grounded and today he came home with a nasty injury at his eye, probably from a fight. He’s fine(-ish) and right now sulking under a bed, but will have to stay inside for a bit. Yay…

@Stephie Sorry to hear that. I hope he gets better soon. On the bright side I think you deserve the bounty for your answer. Reading the question again the cat seems to be easily overstimulated and clicker training sounds like the best solution out of all the answers.

The silver lining (besides the vet’s reassurance that the cornea is unharmed) is that working with the cat gave me a few ideas to add to the answer. So at least some readers can benefit from the situation.
