Morning Pet-ers!

Good morning. Charlie discovered the real meaning of "low hanging fruit" at the weekend. Immature apples, to be specific.
I don't think he understands what "stomach ache" is.

@Snow Ahhh poor thing :P I thought you were going to say fermenting apples :P

I think that's what he's doing, sort of....

Rainbow fish staring down the camera :P

Out of interest, if I were to self-answer a question, how long would I wait before answering my own question?

10:17 AM
@Snow Write the question then check the box that says 'answer my own question' then type out the answer into the box that appears. Then you'll post both at the same time.
You can still wait a little while in case someone else answers it better than you and you want to accept that instead

There's a delay before you can accept

Yep

10:57 AM
Greetings!

Hello :)

All well in Petland?

Yes, indeedy! I got some pictures of my Bichir at the weekend! :)
I'll post them later

Oh, those look interesting! How long have you had 'em?

11:57 AM
My nieces came to visit me this weekend. We went to the park. Loki was tasked with looking after the baby, and then Jack.

12:28 PM
@RichieACC What wonderful coat patterning:) (or a spray job gone wrong:)

12:47 PM
@RichieACC Just got one but and I've had him for maybe 6 months? He's getting big :P
@MartinJames 'I want a grey dog but I don't have much paint' :P

Or it's a grey dog who really really likes drinking white paint....

@Snow But doesn't like to get their ears wet :P

Ear-net, maybe....

@Snow Masking tape.. :)

Is that baby about to be eaten, or was it eaten and then rejected?

12:58 PM
That baby is better protected than the heads of most states 😋

@Snow Any second now and the kiddie is going to notice the paw that is bigger than it's own head:)
@RichieACC Oh, I can believe that:)

This toy's squeaker has broken. Bring me another toy!
Wouldn't it be fun to post a weekly photo as a caption competition? But then again stack would burn the idea to the ground....

@Snow lol, Bailey attacks squeaky toys with extreme violence until the squeak has been torn out of it.

Charlie just tears things apart and eats the stuffing.

@Snow Why?

1:07 PM
Because he's Charlie. What other explanation does he need?

No, that 'Why?' was to your message above "But then again, stack would burn the idea to the ground..."
Hey, @Ash :)

Oh. Because it's not a proper question/answer. Isn't stack's prime purpose to be the top result when users Google questions?

@Snow lol, would be OK with a turkey, I guess:)

Ah, I see. You could do it on Meta though, I think

I guess the problem is that if we use caption competitions/whatever to encourage users to the stack, other stacks would do the same kinds of thing and there would be chaos and recriminations galore.
Meta is a different matter. I don't know whether you're really allowed to have "casual" questions on Meta though.
We could ask though. These meta questions would appear in the side-box on the question list, and that could encourage people into Meta. Perhaps.

1:28 PM
@Snow I've seen contests on meta's before. I don't think just because we're doing it, any other stacks will start doing it. I guess the only problem is perhaps it dilutes Meta but if this was the only recurring competition allowed on Meta, perhaps it would be alright. I certainly like the idea.

One a week might be ok, and see how that goes.
Or maybe one a month. One a week would probably force all the meta stuff to the bottom - it's not very busy in there.

Q: Will too many carrots make my pet bunny fart?

LauraI have been giving my Holland Lop a lot of carrots without thinking about how that can be bad for her. She was making what sounded like farting noises and I don't know why. I think she was scared because of the thunderstorm but I don't think rabbits do that when they are scared. Can anybody help ...

@Snow Yep, it's not busy at all. Would be worth doing something like this to get people engaged with it.
