Interesting point about the distinction between "jail" and "prison"; I never knew there was a difference in meaning. Important question though: does this distinction also exist in the original French, or was it a translator's choice? — Rand al'Thor ♦ Nov 4 '20 at 6:53
@Randal'Thor As far as I know, that is a distinction made in American English that is by no means valid everywhere.
