One of my colleagues tried to convince me to start using a smartphone. I still think smartphones are a usability nightmare.

Judging by the many autocorrect fails, the "smart" in smartphone is a marketing lie.

My parents insist that I have a phone, and there are some school functions that make having certain phone apps essentially required. Thus, smartphone.

As an aside, I really dislike this answer - starting out with "If the book is" screams "I did not read this book but here's me spitballing ideas out there"
