@Malavika Namaskar :)

@Malavika My favorite Kannada song: youtube.com/watch?v=mTuPDGFboNU
Listen to it at 40-50% volume
@Malavika It sounds funny adding "ji" after my famous secondary name. :P
@Brahadeesh Hope my bounty won't get wasted :(

6:01 AM
Another Kannada melody: youtube.com/watch?v=wvaGxOqyzFQ @Malavika

6:13 AM
@Malavika Wow! You can understand Kannada too :O

Greetings all :)

user185131
@Malavika In fact, everyone in my family was sitting around in the hall discussing some music and this song came up. My father also suggested I try singing it, but I said my voice is not suited to film music in general. It requires a certain aesthetic touch, proper voice modulation, etc. that is very different from classical music. If I sing, it will sound like a parody :P

user185131
It is a good song, no doubt about it. One of my father's recent favourites :)

user185131
@TheLittleNaruto This is one of those renditions that I recommend to everyone! Great to see it here too :D Simply out of this world.

user185131
@TheLittleNaruto I hope so too! It would be a shame for it to go waste. Thank you very much for setting the bounty, though :)

user185131
@Malavika Incidentally, while I was explaining that film music and classical music requires different vocal training, we came across a video of Sid Sriram performing a Carnatic concert. It's on YouTube, he sings Nagumomu.

user185131
9:32 AM
It's...not good, my humble opinion.

user185131
But it again just shows that he has trained his voice differently, that's all. If anything, it shows how impressive it is that there are singers like Yesudas, Bombay Jayashree, Unnikrishnan, etc. who do both styles so well.

My mother has learnt vocal with me (for longer than me, in fact) and she continues to learn veena. My sister also briefly learnt veena from the same teacher here in Mumbai. My wife has not had formal training but she is supremely talented, maybe because her mother and grandmother happen to be excellent vainikas. There are others on my father's side who are musically very talented/inclined, though my father himself sings only casually (but well enough) :)

10:10 AM
@TheLittleNaruto I created an account just now: github.com/ragamalika-musicfans

user185131
10:22 AM
That's so cool!

user185131
No teacher introduced that in class for me, I found it only by reading books on my own. She surely must have been an inspiring teacher for you and everyone else :)

1:22 PM
@Brahadeesh Great! So my taste ain't bad. 😛
@Brahadeesh No problem! That question was worth getting attention from users, so I did. BTW Did you check the new answer posted? Looks like that eye thing is later addition and can be considered as interpolation.
@Brahadeesh Superb! Now please create a repository by name "ragamalika-musicfans.github.io"
@Malavika Glad that you liked it! Do you want me to share my Kannada playlist? It's full of such melody romantic songs. :)
@Brahadeesh Looks like you're from some traditional gharana family. Is it true?
@Brahadeesh Once done with creating repository, add me as a contributor of that repository. I'll add necessary codes.
Thank me later ;=)

user185131
@TheLittleNaruto I checked the answer and upvoted it, but to be honest it confuses me. What is the purpose of the first image in that answer? The OP says "It does mention about Srinivasa's meeting Padmavaty, when the former was on hunting." Maybe I'm missing something, but what does this meeting have to do with Bhrigu? I am not familiar with this meeting (or if I am, nothing comes to mind immediately).

@Brahadeesh May be post that doubt in comment.

user185131
@TheLittleNaruto Will do, buddy. :)

great thanks :)

user185131
@TheLittleNaruto Done. Is this you? github.com/TheLittleNaruto

1:37 PM
@Brahadeesh Yes the kindest merciful bravest king "TheLittleNaruto" ;)

user185131
:D

user185131
@TheLittleNaruto I've sent you an invite on github, and I've commented under that answer on Hinduism SE :)

user185131
@TheLittleNaruto No no no, far from it. (: I would be blessed if that were so.

@Brahadeesh Superb! I'll check new rules added by @Malavika and update there. Give me sometimes

user185131
Awesome! @Malavika looks like our little chatroom is getting a nice boost thanks to Little Naruto :)

user185131

@Brahadeesh Now open that link again
@Malavika You too
@Brahadeesh Ping me when you're back, we will host it now

Is it looking okay ?

user185131
It looks great! I'll just make some small grammatical cleanups and it'll be ready for hosting!

user185131
What do you think @Malavika?

Okay! Let me know when you're done with that
I just copied rules from@Malavika messages

user185131
2:08 PM
I noticed :) That's great, the rules are all okay from my side. I'm just a stickler for correct placing of commas and parantheses :P

you send me correct sentences, I'll update them
@Brahadeesh

user185131
Will clicking on the edit option (between the "trash" and "open in github desktop" options) be fine? I won't touch the code, just touchup a few of the sentences here and there.

yeah should be fine
@Brahadeesh Did you edit?

user185131
@TheLittleNaruto On the last section right now

Great!

user185131
2:23 PM
Hehehe

user185131
@TheLittleNaruto I'm almost done. @Malavika a couple of questions, though. Just to be sure I've understood correctly: regarding points 4 and 6 on "not allowed" in the FAQ: chat.stackexchange.com/rooms/103350/conversation/…

user185131
If I understood correctly, for 4. we mean: don't bring up discussions about how to answer questions posted on main, or how to formulate answers. Is that right?

user185131
And for 6. we mean: don't flood the room with your content (your own recordings), explicitly ask for permission from room owners before doing so. Did I get that right?

user185131
2:39 PM
@TheLittleNaruto Bro, I'm done! Do I "commit directly to the master branch"?

user185131
2:50 PM
Well... Since nothing seems to have broken, I'm guessing it wasn't wrong to do that :P

user185131
I'm off to do meditation and then have dinner. Might be back later in the night today @Malavika @TheLittleNaruto :)

3:02 PM
@Brahadeesh Yeah
@Brahadeesh Wow! Wasn't aware that you're doing meditation.
@Brahadeesh Cool!
@Malavika Sharing their work should be fine as long as it's related to topic of the chatroom.
It would be like sharing any YouTube link
@Malavika I see! But It's really good to do meditation. Hope you're doing as well.
@Malavika I may be able to help you with meditation if you want :P
@Malavika I do them as well. Right after cleaning house in the morning
Please watch and listen to this video before going to sleep
It's almost 1 hour video
But you'll love it
If possible, keep the room dark, while watching and listening to it
@Malavika Not really! But yeah whatever I can follow, I do.
@Malavika Hope you read other messages too. ^^
