Manuel Bärenz, I'd think it might be suitable to slow down a bit with retagging of old questions. Improving tagging is definitely appreciated, but it's better not to bump too many old posts at the same time. See for example: Do we have an unofficial quota on how many old questions one should bump for minor edits in a single day? and other discussions related to bumping on meta. — Martin Sleziak 2 mins ago
Sorry for a comment unrelated to the question, but I wanted to ping you somewhere and I was not sure where. If needed, discussion about this can continue in chat. — Martin Sleziak 41 secs ago
I am not sure whether somebody complained about this yet, but since I saw many posts bumped by the same users, I thought that it might be better to leave a comment about this somewhere.
@Turion After you see my comments feel free to ping me to let me know that I can remove them. (They are unrelated to the question. And if they contain some information which is useful for you - the comments are also here in chat.)

@MartinSleziak, thanks for the hint. I wasn't aware of that problem!

Thanks for the response!
This problem appeared not too long ago - in connection with editing titles, but it's basically the same problem with tags: Repeated TeXifying of question titles
So I thought it might be useful to let you know about this. Since my comment reached you, it is no longer necessary - so I'm deleting the two comments under your question.

(To be honest, sounds more like a problem with stackexchange's mechanism in general of bringing any change back to the front page.)

No, that is intentional (and useful).
Just imagine that somebody would vandalize existing posts and replace them with non-sense - it is better that something like this does not go unnoticed.

I can't really imagine opening e.g. 20 tabs of questions that should be tagged with this or that, and then having to work on them in batches for a week until they're all done...
Right, true
Still, with that restriction in place I feel de-incentivised to "batch-tag" questions

Similarly, if somebody creates new tag, it is possible that the new tag is not suitable. For example, the tag was discussed before on meta - but a user might create it with good intentions without knowing that the tag is problematic. But without bumping, adding this tag to old questions would go unnoticed.

I already feel guilty every time I edit my own question (as I'm about to do now) because I have missed an important detail in the original body
Right. I guess I'd like if there were a checkbox for "minor edits", and only editors or mods have a list of recent minor edits.

@Turion Well, I am not forcing you to stop, I have merely pointed you to advice available here on meta. If you strongly feel about this, you can simply ignore what I said and continue.

No, I definitely see your point! And thanks again
I was just thinking from the top of my head ;)

@Turion There are some feature request about this already: Minor edits, subject to review on meta.MO and Allow non-bumping minor edits, but review them on /review on main meta.
If you think it is a good idea, you can upvote those feature requests.

Cool, thanks!

@Turion Well, I have several "files" with links to the questions sorted by various types of improvement that they need (retag, improving titles, add link to papers, text in pictures etc.) If I have already bumped several posts, I simply add the link to one of those files.
And then, when I have time, I take a few of them and edit. (Admittedly, it is not very often.)
I have never asked how other users deal with this problem. But maybe they do something similar.

Yeah, this honours you as a meticulous editor, but I'm not willing to spend that much time and effort :/

Re: I already feel guilty every time I edit my own question... I think adding details to the question is legitimate reason to edit, so I don't think it's likely that somebody would object to bump caused by that. (Not to mention it's unlikely to have several questions bumped for this reason in short period.)

I find the feature requests you linked quite good.
Ok :) then I'll feel less guilty from now on

One disadvantage of the fact that you added new tag to several question is that it also moved your question from the frontpage and maybe the question is less likely to get noticed.
But I suppose there are users who display questions sorted by the date of posting (newest) rather than by recent activity (active).
