@MartinSleziak those tags came up frequently. The "johnson" one got removed about a month ago. I did not notice but just checked the relevant thread, which has a deleted answer. Maybe the "noam" one was removed at the same time, or even earlier. The "johnson" one was in some sense the best, not only as it was the first but also since it had a somewhat consistent usage.

From what I understood, it was about topics related to (some areas of) Banach space theory.

In other tagging related news: anybody see any point in ? Similarly but not as bad ?
@MartinSleziak yes.

@quid I will not be able to see the deleted answer, but I am still curious. Does "relevant thread" means the equivalent of tag management thread at meta.MO. I don't recall the name from the top of my head, but IIRC there is such post.
Help cleanup tags! is the thread I meant.
(BTW I brought up the user-specific tags mainly as a curiosity. After a similar tag was suggested on meta.MSE - although not seriously.)

@MartinSleziak yes it is in help cleanup tags. A very brief inquiry. No discussion.
@MartinSleziak there are also entries in meta.mathoverflow.net/questions/642/… (though it does not exactly fit there, but that thread got in the end used for all kinds of suggestions not only in the narrow sense of OP) The "noam" related answer got deleted almost a year ago, which I assume means the tag was deleted then. the "johnson" one at the same time as the other.
Where "other" means the other johnson answer not the noam answer.

I cannot think of a similar tag on MSE. Although maybe is very close to .
(There are certainly other experts which have given very good answers in that tag. But Asaf is certainly the most active.)
Maybe something like that happens in some tag which I did not follow.
But it seems I have digressed from the main puprose of this room.

@MartinSleziak this is not surprising after all MSE is a rather well-organized site and thus tags are taken a bit seriously.

You mean that MO is less organized than MSE?
I recall reading on meta: "Perhaps it is not an issue in sites like MathOverflow because it is really shameful for a prestigious professor to get involve in such childish games but in Math.Stackexchange it could happen."

@MartinSleziak yes, considerably less organized. (It may be inevitable it is like this.) This quote is interesting in this context, as it referred to something else, but is more fitting in this context. I feel it is quoted out of context but becomes more relevant this way. :-)
Just look around: how much community moderation or maintainance do you see beyond closing? The list of users by edits shows this too mathoverflow.net/users?tab=Editors&filter=year It is not even possible to maintain the most elementary guide that the top-level tags should be used. To be sure, lately I do not do much about it either.
Or look at the tag-wikis, rather the lack thereof. True, we did not have this for a long time and it may not be so needed, but even very popular tag do not even have an excerpt.
This used to be a bit different early on. But most of those that were involved early on slowed down and very few new joined. (I do not blame those that do not get involved as one could get the impression there is a lot of "red tape." Add MJ in the wrong post and you will get reprimanded etc. One of the worst offences seems to be making a bit too many edits in rapid succssion. Posting totally ill-formatted stuff by contrast is much less of a problem. )
Personally I find this quite frustrating at times. But perhaps I should stop the ranting now.
