He gives a rather general description of how the electrons can attract each other to form the Cooper pairs, and it's good description as far as it goes. But the actual calculation is very complicated.

The theory is called Bardeen–Cooper–Schrieffer theory:

When that was first announced it seemed very interesting, but it doesn't seem to have gone anywhere in the years since. It seems like it will still be a long time before w can travel using Hyperloop.
