A: Requests for Reopen & Undeletion Votes (volume 01/2022 - today)

Patryk CzachurskiClosed, Deleted, Undeleted, Deleted again Discovered a generalization of the age-old pairing function $2^{y}(2x + 1) - 1$: in higher bases, it drops the exponent and approaches multiplication. I would love some insights on what is still wrong with my question. I have shortened it as advised by m...

It had turned into a monograph, of a length unsuitable for any SE site. A site moderator has kindly undeleted it for your convenience, but expect it to get deleted again soon. — whuber ♦ 1 hour ago

Sidharth GhoshalI am requesting the answer here by E.Dioekema be undeleted. The answer is factually correct albeit the explanation is extremely terse. I think it is unfair that someone answers a question with a correct answer and sketchy logic and sees their answer deleted. It might be fair for the answer to rec...

@Srini yes, the post can, in theory, be undeleted
Jul 22, 2024 16:44
If you are asking for the linked question to be undeleted, I don't think that is likely to happen---that post isn't even really a question. You say that you want to raise a discussion, but that isn't what SE is for (SE is not a discussion forum).

@robjohn The deletion was justified. I have no idea why it was undeleted and by whom.
May 6, 2024 08:15
@Feeds No idea why this was undeleted. Please delete

D "check my proof" of famous longstanding open problem by newbie was strangely undeleted (by users with no activity in that subject) Nothing of value there.
Apr 2, 2024 06:00
I've found that it has now been undeleted.
Mar 14, 2024 02:51
D undeleted PSQ & dupe of FAQ with lone poor answer. Was previously deleted in this room but got undeleted due to OP meta request. Nothing novel.
Mar 10, 2024 17:37
@Peter It is not the moderator's job, in general, to decide which posts should be open or closed or deleted or undeleted, except in very clear-cut cases. In general, we try to remain hands-off, and let the community moderate content. And you will notice that the question is currently deleted, again.

How come this PSQ is undeleted and has 4 reopen votes?
Mar 2, 2024 14:15
@Ѕᴀᴀᴅ The answer was deleted and undeleted a couple of times (by the author) a couple of times before the question was ultimately deleted.
Mar 2, 2024 01:54
@XanderHenderson As soon as I cast the last deletion vote on the question, one of the answers shows an undeletion vote. Out of curiosity: (1) How come such an undeletion vote could have been cast before the deletion took place? (2) If the answer gets 3 undeletion votes, will the question and the answer be undeleted?

More eyes, please? This was deleted in review, but has been undeleted by the author. The formatting is terrible, but I haven't spent to the time to check the math. Answer to: Point Selection for Cross Ratio‭ - Giacomo Cavallo‭ 2024-01-23 14:57:06Z

@Shaun If the post is undeleted and the post has negative score by the time the next round of RemoveDeadQuestions is run, it will be automatically deleted again. Do you plan to make any efforts to avoid this situation, like editing the post?

ShaunUndeleted by users then deleted by bot. Please undelete and reopen this: https://math.stackexchange.com/q/4618260/104041 The question is mine. I put an awful lot of effort into it. The downvotes confuse me and I have no clue why it was deleted (beyond the automatic deletion when there's enough ...

@ТymaGaidash I am surprised that this is possible at all. I always thought the question has to be undeleted first before it can be reopened. Apparently I was wrong.

Moishe KohanThe answer by Damien D to this question about the Besicovitch-Federer theorem on unrectifiable sets should be undeleted. @Peter Is this about math.stackexchange.com/q/4778973/42969 ? The timeline does not show that the question was ever deleted or undeleted. (But it has 2 delete votes now.)
Oct 5, 2023 09:01
@amWhy How could this be undeleted ? And in particular so fast ?
Oct 4, 2023 21:49
@Peter It was undeleted, but open for deletion again
Sep 29, 2023 21:42
A few weeks ago, the OP deleted their question after I had answered it. Although Xander undeleted it, and commented to them to not do this, the OP deleted it again 3 days ago. Since that user is now gone, they can't undelete it, so please instead help me to undelete the question, and my answer.

@user21820 I cannot delete-vote again. How can such an opinion-based question (without room for any discussion utterly opinionbased) get so many upvotes and undeleted. Something goes utterly wrong on this site.
Sep 20, 2023 19:55
There is sadly a high risk that this will be undeleted.

@Peter The question was self-deleted shortly after I mentioned it here, but one hour later it was undeleted and the bounty added. So we have to wait one week until we can close it.
Sep 2, 2023 20:41
please close - Probably because of a meta-post this was reopened (and undeleted?). I still think it has little to no context , but I cannot close-vote again.
Aug 30, 2023 18:29
great danger of a reopening - we still need a downvote and delete-votes to prevent that. Of course the question coudl still be undeleted after this , but at least we should try to delete it.
Aug 3, 2023 19:28
I think that this answer can be undeleted. I voted to delete it as a link-only answer, but its author expanded it a lot before it got deleted.
Jul 29, 2023 14:36
This and a very similar question will probably be undeleted again , unless some moderator locks them.
Jul 28, 2023 05:54
@SarveshRavichandranIyer The moderators are still in a strike just because AI-posting cannot be controlled. I have several flags that are still not worked out. It is sad that this question was undeleted.
Jul 28, 2023 05:25
It is a shame that this was undeleted.
Jul 21, 2023 13:49
@MartinR That PSQ has been undeleted by the usual PSQ-protectors. @Peter @JoséCarlosSantos: More delete-votes needed, thanks!
Jun 21, 2023 08:59
Actually the author had self-deleted the question, it was undeleted by three other users (after it was discussed on meta).

@user1729 And now they undeleted the question again and put a bounty on it. Sigh ...

So about the question I posted yesterday (math.stackexchange.com/questions/4672588/…), that question got deleted by the author. I think that it's an interesting question. I do think it's too low quality if it was simply undeleted (as it does need some clarification), so I'm thinking about reposting an edited version as an Q&A style question, as I do know how to answer it. Thoughts?

Oliver DíazThis question was deleted in 2021 by a moderator. I request that it is undeleted and reopen. The original complain from some users was that it was a question from the American mathematical monthly in 2021, and already has some answers there which are different form those posted in MSE.

DEL undeleted PSQ & likely dupe, nothing novel.
Feb 4, 2023 17:57
This answer was deleted in review by "recommend deletion" votes. The answerer undeleted it. I don't think that the answer is very clear, but I don't think that it is bad enough for unilateral and permanent moderator deletion. Can I request more eyes? Answer to: Understanding Monty Hall problem‭ - Pragyan Srivastava‭ 2023-01-27 14:44:44Z
Jan 5, 2023 00:36
@amWhy Btw, if that question gets undeleted (and reopened) here is another (exact) dupe target where exactly the same method is posted by MR, so there is nothing novel in the deleted answer.
Dec 30, 2022 10:49

Dec 30, 2022 10:47
D7 above has been undeleted with a help of one of its answers, and this answerer didn't disclose their conflict of interests here.

@Ѕᴀᴀᴅ Your delete votes have been invalidated by MSE users. You are still trying to delete the question. Sorry, but you won't win. If the question is deleted again, there will always be people who voted for it to be undeleted. Good luck.
Nov 23, 2022 21:09
@amWhy The question had multiple spam flags on it. I deleted the question faster than I should have, then realized that I had made a mistake. I therefore undeleted the question. At the time I deleted it, it only had one delete vote, so others are welcome to cast further delete votes.
