I have bumped the post mainly because there was an incorrect tag bookmarks rather than tag-watching. (Historically, the tag favorites was used both for favorite question and for favorite tags. Using the same tag for two different meanings clearly wasn't a smart decision.)
Another local problem is that historically favorites - and later bookmarks - were used for favorite tags, too. In the hindsight, it wasn't a wise choice.
With interesting tags being renamed to favorite tags, the appropriate change should be made from interesting-tags to favorite-tags on MSO and all per-site metas.
The tag info for tag-watching mentions that the feature was formerly known as "favorite tags", but I also think it was formerly formerly known as "interesting tags". There is a default tag called interesting-tags (currently without any questions, though) which can be synonymized/merged into [tag-watching].
Although historically we have used favorites also for questions about favorite tags - should we separate those questions under a separated favorite-tags tag? https://math.meta.stackexchange.com/posts/4595/revisions https://math.meta.stackexchange.com/posts/4596/revisions
Since the tag favorites was renamed to bookmarks, it probably makes sense to split the tag into separate tags for favorite questions (bookmarks) and favorite tags (watched tags).

@MartinSleziak Separating out the "favorites" questions from the "favorite tags" questions might be a good idea.
It's a simple exercise to show that two similar matrices has the same eigenvalues and eigenvectors (my favorite way is noting that they represent the same linear transformation in different bases).
However, to show that two matrices has the same characteristic polynomial it does not suffice to ...
meta There was this question on meta recently: Can we have a feed of watched tags. It reminded me of the old problem that we use the same tag questions about favorites and favorite tags.
tl;dr
We rolled out some improvements for how you track the topics you are interested in for your favorite Q&A sites. This feature used to be called Favorite Tags. We are renaming it Tag Watching. Naming is hard, but we think this better captures the value of the feature. There were a number of ...
Whether favorites should serve both purposes is a separate question. Maybe we can revisit this the next time when somebody asks a question related to favorite tags.
@quid Do you think some kind of poll could help? (As in: "Please, upvote this comment if you think that one tag for both favorite questions and favorite tags is sufficient." and "Please, upvote this comment if you think there should be a separate tag for favorite questions and a separate tag for favorite tags.")
If you think that it is better to discuss this on meta (both creation of the synonym and whether or not these two things can be under the same tag), I can make a post in tag management thread. (With suggestion to create synonym and asking whether other users think favorite questions and favorite tags should be separate.)
@MartinSleziak but wouldn't "favorites" be about favorite-questions rather than tags? Or is there a separate tag for that? To mix the tow together is likely not ideal as they are rather different.
Or would it be preferable to keep questions related to favorite tags and favorite questions separate? (This could probably need some bumping and retagging.)
Say $M$ is a matrix over your favorite field. Let $P$ be the collection of nonvanishing minors of $M$, partially ordered by inclusion in the apparent way.
The vague question is: What can one say about the poset $P$?
A little more explicitly, say $M$ is $m \times n$. Let $B_m$ and $B_n$ be the B...
I would not be surprised if there were some users which mostly view questions in their favorite tags. (For example, filtering questions by using intags:mine, see here or here for more details.)
Do we really need random-variables? I'm not sure what purpose the tags serve, but at least in my opinion, this tag is too broad to it useful for searching or to choose it as a favorite, and probability is fine on its own for any sort of question involving random variables.
(Note that I said some...
For any tag, you can ignore it (questions with this tag are hidden or grayed out), favorite it (questions with this tag are highlighted), or neither. By going to Preferences on the Edit Profile & Settings tab of your profile, you can see a list of tags you have favorited and a list of tags you ha...
